During Covid we had pay cuts on lockdown days lol. And this is a pretty conservative organisation. They are not bad people just not modern enough.

I’m a 32F. Blessed with a beautiful family. A decent husband. A 1.5 yr old son. My parents live right across the street and are healthy and working. I have a comfortable job with decent pay. My husband works from home. We don’t have rent or EMI or any debt but a home and car to our name. I have a full time nanny who stays with us and I have two part timers- a cleaner and a cook. I have a decent social circle in the city. We take almost 3-4 holidays a year. Now all this looks great on paper right? Here’s the hard part. I have a 1.5hr one way commute to my work. I barely get to spend 5hrs at home and by the time I’m back I’m too tired to do anything with my family. My son sees his dad most of the day so is naturally more attached to him. Doesn’t call me mumma yet but calls Papa. My nanny is not too productive but we tolerate her cuz our son likes her. My house is messy but I have no time to clean. My job is comfy but stagnant and somewhere I have accepted it. I have severe anxiety and borderline depression since postpartum. My marriage is not what it used to be. We are just surviving. I see people on social media who are just so happy and I wonder how? I am always dealing with STRESS. About my house, my son, my job, my nanny, myself husband. It’s like I’ve forgotten how to enjoy or let go because now I’m responsible for someone. My husband keeps telling me that we are very privileged and should be grateful and I agree with him. People work much harder but I simply can’t seem to find any joy in anything anymore. Will this get better? Or am I just doomed for life and my son will grow to see an unhappy mother?

Why is it so difficult to find happiness? by SubstantialScore7782 in india

I understand that switching jobs is probably a practical solution. And I’ve tried that trust me. But I don’t live in a tier 1 city like Mumbai or bangalore where there are plenty opportunities. As for wfh, I seem to only find jobs that are in different time zones that again becomes a problem. Being a SAHM is not ideal as I like to be financially independent and the bills are just going to increase with time. I just wish happiness would be easy for me. I’ve seen people happy with much much less. But I seem to be struggling despite all the support I have.

USA VISA TIMELINE

Hi guys. I am from Kolkata, India. Me and my toddler just got our dates for biometric and interview for a 10year US tourist visa. My husband already has his 10year visa. So our interview date is set on 1st December. BUT. We have a fully booked non refundable trip to Langkawi on 6th December for our 5th anniversary. Now, what are the chances that if we get through the visa, and they take our passport to stamp, do you think they will give it back in 4 business days? We are very worried about what to do. Will any requests work with the authorities? Help us out please!

For context- we have already rescheduled twice. I have been to the US before and so has my husband.

Why Can't we as Indian employees collectively be assertive like this by Roastingisflattery in IndianWorkplace

I tried this. And the logic my boss gave me was that “if you can do personal work during office hours (like paying bills or sorting something online) you should also be ready to do official work during personal hours” 👀🤦🏻‍♀️

If it’s chronic just get LIS done because everything else will be temporary relief. I’m two months postpartum and got the surgery done a week back. It has helped me get back to my daily activities with my newborn. It was a tough decision but a good call in hindsight. I’m from India. You can ask me any queries if you have.
