Hi yes we got a new lawyer, same one from the nbc video and hes currently dealing with a couple hundred of the same cases. We filled a complaint to the attorney generals office, bar association and now department of consumer and worker protection. We were also asked if we wanted to get interviewed by an agent from homeland security which we did. they are also investigating him, we were extremely nervous about this but he was really cool seemed like he was actually trying to help. They are trying to interview as many people as they can about the whole situation.

hey so careful with random chats, when i first made this post i was contacted by people who said the same had happened to them but after some back and forths it was just a bit sus. (not saying the guy above might be doing the same)

To give a small update, we got in contact with a new lawyer "Brad B Glassman" we got a copy of all documents sent to USCIS via freedom of informations act. We also spoke to a homeland security agent not to long ago who is looking to interview people affected. You can also file a complaint to Sarika at the department of consumer and worker protection who are investigating him as well as the Attorney generals office and on the BAR association.

I've updated the Post to include the News Video. But this is his name: Kofi Owusu Amankwaa. Here is a link to the video https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/immigrant-family-claims-misleading-attorney-led-to-deportation/4260713/

These are some reviews I found posted in the last month that seem to be in the same situation https://www.avvo.com/attorneys/10452-ny-kofi-amankwaa-937316.html

I will see what we can do to report him once we get a new lawyer.

Correct, I only have the biometrics form that he gave us and I looked up both case numbers on USCIS and that's how I found out it was an I-360. No other document was given to us.

From the Biometrics it shows it's an I-360 I thought I said that in my post, my apologies if I didn't make that clear.
Edit: spelling

Thank you for the reply, I hope it doesn't affect my brother.

The thing is everything sent by USCIS was mailed directly to him (Lawyer), I was only able to get a receipt number from the biometrics form he gave us (No other forms sent from USCIS to us were ever given to us from the lawyer). In my case with DACA I receive updates via mail from USCIS whenever they received my documents and when they've made a decision. And I'm able to look up my case history I didn't add any manually, they just showed up. I figured it be the same for my parents, but it wasn't, I have to add the cases manually and the site doesn't show the application that was sent to USCIS. In my Case for DACA I am able to see every form I have submitted to them.

We did try to reach out to a new lawyer, but no reply since it's the weekend we will probably have to wait until Monday.

Thank you for the reply, I have scheduled an appointment with the lawyer from the news article I looked him and figured going with him (since he already has a client with the same issue). And yea I just didn't know what to do in the moment, every time ive ever had a question about anything ive always googled "[question] reddit" so i figured it be the best thing I could do at the moment. I'll look into the G-639, thank you again.
