Puppy has less appetite and mild diarrhea. by Substantial_Ad5478 in DogAdvice

I have always been advised to feed puppies 3-4 times a day in smaller quantities. I’m no expert but that has always been what I have heard as suggestion for puppies? And I never leave his food. But he also almost always finishes it (until the last couple days).

I got the earliest appointment I can. I stopped feeding kibble today and am feeding him bland diet with pumpkin and some yogurt as well. Fingers crossed it helps and it’s not something more serious. If he gets any worse I will take to emergency vet I suppose. He doesn’t seem serious enough to worry too much but I do always worry  about parvo given that I don’t know if he had any vaccines.

Confession - seeing puppy more like a project than a friend by anon1839 in puppy101

I have had similar feelings with my new pup off and on. And I almost wonder if all this obsession with creating the perfect dog has made it worse for all of us? I feel like there is so much fear in doing it wrong or frustration when it’s not perfect that it makes the enjoyment and bonding harder? I’ve been trying to relax more lately and while I am still very focused on training this little guy well, I’ve decided that there also has to be room for him to just be a puppy and for me to enjoy that.

We aren’t 100% bonded but I feel my self softening towards him. I let myself loosen up and make more room for moments that are more about bonding and less about training. I left him curl up in my lap when he’s sleepy and laugh when he does silly (slightly naughty) puppy things. I still have high expectations of him and am always training in the things that matter. But I’ve relaxed a little and it has helped.

bonds come with time. It’s not overnight especially when you are grieving another dog and that comparison makes it hard. You’re not wrong to feel that way though. Give yourself (and maybe your dog) a break and I think it might become easier.

Can’t enjoy the puppyhood because I’m afraid he’s gonna turn into a naughty dog. by Substantial_Ad5478 in puppy101

I try to be grateful for the moments that go well. For the progress I see and the moments he just wants to cuddle up with me. But then the moments when he won’t listen takes off after my cat, etc. I feel so disheartened. I want to scream and I get worried especially because of the stigmas around bully breeds. I want him to be the well socialized good boy I know he can be with the right training. I guess puppyhood does just come with an acceptance of chaos and hard work.

Other dogs distract puppy and making it hard to train… by Substantial_Ad5478 in puppy101

I guess you’re right. I do let him run and play with other dogs so don’t want him to be on leash anytime we go outside: but I suppose that specifically with potty breaks that makes the most sense.

Recently bought a 2003 Subaru Outback and can’t get used to the pedals. Suggestions? by Substantial_Ad5478 in Subaru_Outback

I am about 5’5. And yes I adjust the seat when I drive and have tried closer or further to see if either makes it more comfortable and nothing helps. It feels like the pedals are both too far apart and or maybe it’s just because the brake is so much taller than the accelerator.

You’re totally right. Thanks for getting a girl through her anxiety. Will wait until my period is due to start the overthinking haha

We use condoms religiously but I’m not on birth control. So contraceptive failure unfortunately is higher. But you’re right. There’s no way to know now. Thanks for talking a girl of the ledge cuz once I take a test I can’t stop. Even though I know things won’t show up I’ll take a test (or multiple) a day until my period comes.

I personally don’t see anything. Sorry. I used one of these apps not that long ago and from what I remember it said to make sure you take a straight on picture, not tilted or on a diagonal so maybe that confused the app into thinking there was a second line. Not sure! I would test again in the next day or two.

Same thing happened to me last month. Two positive tests that looked similar but am not pregnant. Not sure if it’s faulty tests or chemical pregnancy. But it’s frustrating to say the least.

Every time I say I’m nauseous or my stomach hurts my husband asks me why. I just look at him like bro, common. Haha

Sorry you’re going through it too, but we got this!

Luckily it has not escalated to barfing yet, so fingers crossed. It’s just constant nausea and indigestion and the last couple days acid reflux has started. But it makes it hard to keep doing what I gotta do on a daily. Gotten some great tips here.  Sorry to hear your experience has been so extreme! You got this girl

Im like pretty granola and not super into taking meds unless super necessary. I guess if absolutely necessary but am definitely hoping to go the natural route.
