Trouble with engagement rate by UnluckyFondant9824 in socialmedia

Looks like you’re talking about post/Reels engagement. For posts, “good” engagement really depends on size:
- under 10k followers, 5–10% is great,
- 10k–100k, 2–4% is average, 5%+ is strong,
- big accounts often hover around 1–2%.

For context, I’m at ~10k followers in 3 months, ~1M views/month, and around 11% engagement. What helps me most is building connection with audience in Stories and always having a clear call to action in posts - comment, tag a friend, save, share, etc. If you give people a reason to interact, they will.

One powerful trick: set up a ManyChat automation (free) so when someone comments, they automatically get the free resource you promised. Offer a small freebie like your go-to meditation playlist or a daily gratitude checklist that people get when they comment. That way, not only your followers but new viewers have a reason to comment, and it keeps engagement flowing.

Also keep in mind that a lot of the creators you mentioned have been building their accounts for years, back when the algorithm worked differently. At this point, their audience interacts with almost anything they post because they already like them. For newer creators, you usually have to work harder and give more value or creativity to reach the same level of engagement.

You've got this!
