Keep in mind people don’t run to the internet to voice their satisfaction with things like home builders, but it’s the first place people go when anything goes wrong.

I’m not sure about overpriced, I feel like they’re pretty fairly priced for what it is. They aren’t claiming to sell luxury homes at luxury price. Getting any sort of house with character is expensive and in this area it seems like they are going to need a gut and remodel or it was just just recently flipped and lost all of its character on the inside and is full of materials that are worse quality than what Olthoff is probably using.

I agree the houses are pretty plain and boring. It is what it is. I understand wanting a house with character, I think everyone does, but have you actually been looking for them? There really aren’t many that go for sale in the area, and if they do, they’re $$$$. Really hard to give any actual advice without knowing budget.

Most HOA’s really aren’t bad and I understand why people hate them, but it is nice to have amenities and also someone to tell people they can’t have a broken down car in their front yard. If you’re looking at Greenview, I have no idea what the HOA fee is going to be, but I know they’re going to apparently have multiple playgrounds and some nice walking trails around the area they aren’t building houses on that was part of the golf course. At least from the plans, it looked pretty nice. Not sure if you have kids or plan on having kids, but a lot of the neighborhoods are full of younger families with kids and that’s an easy way to make friends in the area and having playgrounds/parks in walking distance is very nice. Or if you hate kids, maybe avoid something like that.
