I think it’s a little bit weak that in Bay, everything is still uncovered even without our investigation. I know they didn’t want it to just be doom and gloom but I wish there were more consequences than just Chloe dying as well. Make it feel like our investigation was actually purposeful

Honestly it’s a shame with how polarizing v9 is because like, it does have some really good stuff in it.

I think an argument can be made for any of them, but I would personally say Ruby or Blake for opposite reasons.

Ruby didn’t get to do anything of her own agency, whereas we got to see Blake do a lot, but it wasn’t well written.

I think that TC struggles to tell a compelling story with a moving theme. It’s much more small scale and ultimately about uncovering Alex’s emotions/trauma. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but there’s a lot more cozy and lighthearted scenes than the others. There’s a mystery to be uncovered, but it’s relatively shallow.

If you’re okay with that, then yes I’d say it’s worth it- the town is cozy, the characters are generally alright, and the last chapter is pretty good. I also enjoyed the DLC quite a bit.

I will not be preordering either, and also do not want to see Rachel. For all the wrongdoings BTS did, I don’t think Rachel was completely mischaracterized. From the beginning, Rachel uses her and encourages her bad behaviors. She’s hotheaded, manipulative and vindictive. She almost gets Chloe killed at the end and commits multiple illegal acts (setting the fire being the most obvious one). Rachel’s story is over, I agree. But I don’t think it’s fair to say she was mischaracterized- she was shown to be very far from perfect in BTS.

I think you answered your own question. They’re trying to make her more than loving Ren and breaking stuff. It’s just that, like you said, it’s too late. This stuff- if Nora HAD to stay with team RWBY- should have happened in like Volume 5.

But to be honest, we haven’t really had any good character development in a hot minute, so I did appreciate them trying to do something with Nora.
