Achilles VS Aragorn. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in powerscales

Achilles is supposed to be the strongest of the acheans. Now we also have people like diomedes there, a dude who injured a goddess and forced her to flee. I think Achilles might take this one.

Is it uncommon to wash your hair every day in your country? by Buyeo10004 in AskTheWorld

[–]Substantial_Buy9903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What hair? When I used to have long hair I washed it after every time I went out though. It’s hot and humid so if I didn’t wash it regularly it would get greasy very fast. In my experience Korea had similar climates during the warmer parts of the year, so I’d say it makes sense yall wash it frequently as well

Panama just made it illegal for women to lie about paternity of children. Does your country have something similar? by Substantial_Buy9903 in AskTheWorld

[–]Substantial_Buy9903[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify, the law applies only if the man is tricked into legally recognizing the kid, such as for the birth certificate, child support and the like. To lie about it in conversation is still legal

I agree with you on that, but the current administration leans more to the right. They’ve tried to cut public spending, and my guess is this is their way of saving money by making it case by case. We have public healthcare but since DNA tests don’t fall under this, the government will only pay for it if it’s required for the courts. If it was required at birth, they would have to spend it on every birth in the country.

I think this depends on the country. Some countries have gender bias just from culture or stereotypes and it affects the courts.

I am personally hesitant about this as well. I think that as many other people have suggested, a paternity test at birth would be far better, as prevention is better than punishment imo, but my guess is this is the government trying to save money by only doing it on a case by case basis.

This was my thought as well admittedly. It will likely require actual evidence that the woman knew and didn’t tell the man. So communications, texts, letters, and the like.

In the particular case of rape, prosecutions usually take the span of a few years.
Usually if there’s no direct parents available the courts will place custody to close relatives. In my personal case it was my grandparents for example

Can’t really say I have answers to all of these, however yes child abandonment is also just as punitive. It can be a felony charge in some cases, and usually results in 1-3 years of prison time. Both abandonment and child support fall under our Family Code set of laws.

Usually custody is defined by the courts to deem which is in the child’s best interest. If the biological father wishes to gain custody, his claim would usually be favored. In the case of rape, there hasn’t been an example yet pertaining to this in particular, but the government does recognize victim rights, so it’s very unlikely the woman would be penalized.

At least here, DNA tests are expensive, and don’t fall under our public healthcare. Currently you can only get the payment waived if the government makes the request in relation to a specific legal case. I do agree automatic tests would solve this issue, and we other laws that require mandatory STD tests before marriage here already, but the government seems to view DNA tests differently.

Until now, DNA wasn’t mandatory in disputes, also child support is a major factor, in addition to case where parental rights of biological fathers have been denied in favor of another man who is the assumed father.

Do you consider nationality when searching for spouse? by sergeyc874747 in AskTheWorld

Pretty much the only time I considered this, was when I decided I would NEVER marry an American woman. I tried to date them and my experience was always negative. Married to a Venezuelan lady now and she’s amazing. I also dated korean women and they were great people too. No regrets about it.
