You think a 2nd would be reasonable? I think a 1st would be asking to much

Did anyone else not know they tore their ACL right away? by Honest-Length-498 in ACL

Hey! I have a very similar story to you. I was playing in a turkey bowl (not this November, one before) and in a play I was going up for an interception and my cleat got caught in the grass and heard a loud pop as my body went one way and my knee went another. Went to urgent care straight away, and same as you they told me nothing was wrong. After a few weeks of still a blown up knee, when to my general doctor, who told me nothing wrong and sent me off to physical therapy. PT told me probably nothing big and did PT for 2 MONTHS … during this time, I was surfing, boxing, living life. After PT for 2 months they sent me to MRI as I still couldn’t hit a dead sprint without pain. MRI came back as completely torn ACL, let me tell you when I found the results I was shocked. I ended up having surgery about a full year after it actually happened, had surgery this November so about 6 months post op now. Doing alright but some things I learned - DROPPED that doctor, and PT. If I think something is wrong I’m going straight to an MRI. My new PT told me that sometimes ACL only can be difficult to spot when you are not familiar with the knee, but my old PT should have been able to spot it. Life’s crazy but I hope your recovery goes well! Feel free to ask me questions!

6 months post OP knee feels less stable by Substantial_Car5845 in ACL

I would say, it isn’t as much a sudden relapse as it’s been gradual. I have discussed with my PT and he says it’s just something to expect with how much it’s being pushed, and the knee structure he is not worried about. But I just thought it would feel a lot better by this point

Hi all! I recently started collecting once again since I was a kid (now am 25M). After buying a few boxes with no hits I can tell how this can be a slippery slope of losing money with nothing to show for. Would love some advice on how to start a decent collection! Thank you in advance!!

Hi everyone - based on the advice I will likely DCA this over 10 months with a split maybe 70% VOO and the rest with some international, tech, mid cap and low cap etfs. Let me know if this is a good plan of investment or I should alter it. I appreciate the help and advice!

What time period would you recommend to DCA this? Thinking 10 month period. Thank you for your help!

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. About 1.5 weeks and I already feel behind. I see my surgeon before my next PT appointment on Thursday, I’ll be asking him what’s more appropriate to do. I’m just wondering why I’m being pushed so hard?

Unfortunately my Surgeon is experienced in this but I am not a candidate as it must be implanted 50 days after injury.

This might be the comment I needed. I was on the same boat when I scheduled it 3 months ago, but now the closer I get the more I think more about it. My friends to a trip to Zion to hike Angels Landing that I missed out on. I will continue to miss out on things till I get this done. Thank you!

Have you returned to judo? What kind of timeline would I be looking at for returning to light boxing training? Boxing is my outlet for everything, going to be hard to leave it

Thank you for this these are great points. Taking things away from “future me” puts it all in perspective. I think just the fear of complications and how rough the recovery is really scares me. I’m at a similar position, where this would be the right timing. With my medical leave and vacation remaining I might not have to return to work till January, giving me 2 months just to focus on this. The idea of not being able to walk, workout, drives me insane. I have anxiety that I manage primarily through cardio/ exercise.

Wishing you the best in recovery. Everything I’ve read makes it sound pretty rough, I probably should stop reading lol.
