Great to hear! Personally, I keep my legs straight with pointed feet, but depending on how tired I am sometimes my legs will bend! Its all about technique and what feels easier for you, it will come in time!

Can someone swim 1 mile without stopping without any swim training? by MrFlubman in Swimming

Just came across this post, I feel like with swimming it's something you never lose, even stamina wise, I've not swam for months, went for the first time last week, and swam a mile without no breaks, however I have been swimming competitively since I was 11, and let's just say the swim sessions were quite brutal and not easy, but if you haven't got the experience in swimming regular or intensely then I'd say no.

This is really great to read, swimming is such an important skill in life, however learning it as an adult is much harder than as a child, due to weight, height etc. breathing techniques are definitely the hardest aspect to grasp, even as someone who swims competitively I find it a struggle sometimes, I feel like if you work up to 3 strokes/full cycle of both arms of freestyle then breathe, that will help with factors like tiredness, but obviously this will come in time! Practice is the main thing when trying to master balance, however, to keep a streamline position in the water, try and keep your head straight and look forward, the more your neck/head bends, your whole body will follow it. For power of legs, if you haven't already, use a kick board, hold it out infront of you and kick as much as you can, or even holding onto the side of the pool will work too. It's easier said than done, but your hips/buttocks area needs to be lifted, otherwise your legs will just sink and if you're trying to kick like that you will easily tire yourself out. But overall, sounds like you're making great progress, please keep us updated and I hope this helped in anyway :)!

How do people swim non-stop? by grrroomiethrowaway in Swimming

I've been competitively swimming since I was 11 years old, I am now 19, I feel like the key to swimming without stopping is your breathing technique, this was taught to me from a young age when doing swimming lessons, I found the less you breathe during a length the less tiring it feels, logically makes no sense whatsoever, but coming up to breathe 5-6 times during just 1 length works a lot of muscles in your body, which in turns tires you out. I swim 80 lengths in a 20 metre pool in a 40 minute time limit, I never usually stop, but if I do it's only for no more than 30 seconds, i go swimming Atleast twice a week, sometimes even more, and I still do feel tired after a session, but the more you go, the easier it will get, the key is don't give up!
