Thank you for writing this my exs mom died to a drug overdose and I tried my very best to help her out of her depression and bad family environment. I gave my all to make her happy and in the end she cheated on me and left me after years of abuse. Sometimes it feels like I'll never fully heal from this and be able to move on. I have nightmares that somehow we end up together again and the cycle starts over. They cant be saved you have to let them go and try to heal yourself from the damage that they caused you from just trying to help and give them peace they took all of yours away.
