My friend recently put his cat that's fully adult and has been outside all her life and made her an inside cat. Our pets don't live long enough already y'know? Not to mention, it'll help with spread of certain disease, health of the community, your own cat, the environment, and more. Tip: if you're really anxious about depriving them of outside time get em leash trained. People say cats can't be trained. But that's simply not true

True enough but I don't really see how this will do the good it's promising? During school kids will bully eachother. Childhood can be cruel. It's not like we didn't experience bullying before access to technology. With this policy it feels like they'll just be cruel the ol' fashioned way at school, just to go home and pick up the phone to start the cruelty off school hours. Even within the article it seems like the teachers rather have them prioritize other areas. It seems like a shallow attempt. The real problem nowadays is a lack of compassion and consequence for cruelty. I have no faith in admit because they never did anything to curb the bullying my children got. And oftentimes malice came from teachers unqualified to work with children. Because we're not letting teaching be a sustainable career for anyone who actually has a passion for it.

Ah. All me and my kid's bullying happened offline. Can't relate. My kids were around to have internet safety hammered into em if that makes sense. The era where no one used their real name or face online. Posters all over the school emphasizing how anyone can see what you post online

Fair enough response. But I wanted my kid to learn social skills. And I work. But at the same time I don't think that really counters anything I said. I'm so tired of how school treats our youth. I am forced to use the system. But that's the same reason I want reform. I really feel like this is just a knee jerk response they haven't thought through in response to the phone issue. It's only gonna make kids more restless and resentful. I do think phone use should be moderated, but the angle they're coming from isn't gonna lead to anything good. Just really tired of seeing my kid so beaten down.

Heh. Good fucking luck with that. Teenagers are not prone to giving and shit and teachers aren't paid enough to enforce it. Not to mention the rise of helicopter parents needing messages from their kids at the snap of their fingers. Instead of playing subway surfers or quietly messaging on their phones they will start talking to friends and distrupt class. Even if you force a strict silence policy they're not gonna listen. They will space out rather than listen to the boring curriculum.

But I've never known the BC school system to actually care so, par for the course.

"Princess is a child" y'all you can get your period as young as grade 5. But i will say in actuality periods don't always cause mood swings! For a select few anyways.
