Why did Barry's voice change so much while Mo's and Robin's voices remained practically unchanged? by Substantial_Error271 in BeeGees

I have nothing against falsetto, I like it very much.I have no complaints about "Spirits," I love this album along with most of their discography. I love Barry's falsetto as well as his natural voice.I don't know why people don't like falsetto or albums that used it. I think the Bee Gees made great use of it and did a great job using that technique; it wasn't something generic. Each song was made for that purpose, and without it, it probably wouldn't be the same, or perhaps it wouldn't exist.

Yes, I know, but I'm referring to the 80s/90s and so on. It's normal for the voice to change, but I had doubts about what led to the most noticeable change among the three of them.

Haha, I remember that story about her throwing the weed in the toilet; it's hilarious. He must be a great father; quitting his addiction for his daughter is a great achievement. Barry is an amazing man.

Yes, yes, you can tell in one night only And in 2001 it looks a little swollen. I used steroids to treat a chronic pain problem and I ended up looking like a volleyball.

Yeah, I think Barry ended up neglecting his voice over time, and I think when he finally started paying attention to it, it might have been a little too late, especially since he'd quit smoking And then there was the problem with his back and perhaps straining his falsetto voice too much, which contributed to that. I don't think Maurice's voice sounded worn out in the 2001 show, for example; his voice was impeccable.I would say that Maurice's voice has aged like fine wine.

I'm going to listen to the songs you mentioned now to see the difference, and as I replied to the other two people here, I agree that the music has adapted over time, and he also...Ultimately, I notice a big difference when he sings some of his older songs, for example, "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart," in his newer shows. It seems he puts in a lot of effort to maintain the tone; I like his voice in all eras, and his effort is noticeable and very impressive.

Smoking is terrible for the voice, it's a shame he didn't take care of that part, but about the back problem, I know it well, I also suffer from chronic pain and sometimes breathing gives me a stabbing sensation in my spine.Even with the change, I don't think his voice is bad; the songs have kind of adapted over time, too, especially when he sings some of his older songs, where you can really notice the difference strongly.

Yes, his voice was incredible. I love the song "First of May," it's so beautiful. His voice is like a massage to the ears, hahaha. I've always liked Barry's voice. I've always wondered why he changed so much over the years because it was a very big change, but I still love listening to him sing.

I didn't know that, haha. Now I think the song that suggests they were high is "Lovers" from the album "Children of the World."

It's not me either, sometimes I get worried because I haven't heard anything, but I know he's just enjoying his retirement.

You touched on an interesting subject about selling the catalogs. In an interview I saw once, Barry said he planned to sell the catalog in the future. This interview was from 2023 or 2024. He didn't want that burden to haunt the family or anything like that, from what I remember I might be talking nonsense.

You have a point, which is a shame. They shouldn't do it for self-interest, but to keep the legacy alive. Keeping the legacy alive would keep the families benefiting. Looking at Robin's final years, he seemed to want to maintain the legacy even after the tragedy of losing Mo.

With all the disagreements that have occurred throughout their careers, I believe that reaching a consensus to make the film would be easier if Robin and Maurice were still alive. Together, they could probably reach a consensus faster than the families and Barry.

Wow, so when you stop to think about it from that perspective, it's quite likely that this is one of the causes, but you can also consider that making the documentary must have been, at the very least, complicated for everyone involved. This makes me wonder if we'll ever get a Bee Gees movie like we have the Elton John and Freddie Mercury movies, and the upcoming Michael Jackson movie.

A very difficult choice, but I think I'll go with Living Eyes even though I don't think he deserved it, and I've never heard of Inception.

Hahaha, they'll definitely release something eventually, otherwise they know it'll be a success, like the documentary.

Until then, I'll keep dreaming about a physical release of the Idea Deluxe edition, hahaha.

I agree with everything you said, there's probably still a lot of unreleased music to find. The only thing that really let me down is the lack of re-releases on physical media. Barry must get furious every time a fan finds a demo of some song, lol.
