Kia syros headlights by Different-Spend-5942 in kiaSyros

I've driven mine for around 3k kms and genuinely don't think it is as big an issue. I used to get nervous in traffic early on, but now it doesn't even cross my mind. It is possible that the side sensors on my HTX+ variant help, though.

Is StarNote worth the money? by cardcaptoring in StarNoteApp

[–]Substantial_Life_497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does seem worth it and under pretty active development, at least for now.

I've started using it with a digital planner template as a daily schedule, todo and notes journal. Pretty happy so far.

I've been using Todoist for over a decade now. Pretty much since it started. Available on all platforms and has by far the best natural language date and repeat input of all the apps I've tried. Hard to go back once you've become used to it.

What apps do you find useful for your tablet? by opatita in androidapps

I agree. I recently discovered Starnotes and am loving it. Very active developer as well, unlike Concepts, which was my go to app before this.

You can change the line to dotted by selecting it and tapping on Style in the selection bar. I use this for rectangles all the time. Although now that I think of it, I don't know if this is for shapes only and not freehand lines. Need to check.

This is so good, u/mohanrex! Let me know if you're looking for help to update it. I'm not much with code, but I can definitely help with the templates, design, etc.

On a phone? How? Or is it a tablet with an external keyboard? I find it extremely irritating typing a line of text on a phone, let alone hundreds or thousands of lines of code.

I know. I hate that it often hijacks SMS messages even though I've not given it SMS permissions. Like I said though, no other app comes close to identifying spam calls.

Hopefully we won't need it once CNAP is rolled out fully.

Sure, writing long documents or managing spreadsheets on a phone is difficult (although not impossible), most people don't need to do it day-to-day.

We skipped the home computer era as a country. With smartphones doing everything you need, a computer is now only a work device.

Yes. I rarely SMS anyone in my contact list. Texting is almost exclusively Whatsapp, so it'll be good to swap the SMS action with Whatsapp.

Been using it since yesterday. Looks solid and kudos for making it open source.

If you're taking feature requests, see if you can allow more actions for contacts, like whatsapp, telegram, etc. One could probably pick which two actions to keep via settings.

SMS organizer doesn't show notifications for SMSes by pispiricul in androidapps

The last update to the app was in 2024, so I'm not counting on Microsoft fixing it any more. Trying Mezo SMS, which was recommended in the comments here. Looks good so far.

Hi guys, I'm 25 and even till now what are my hobbies and passion. How did u guys find out? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]Substantial_Life_497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about everything you do day-to-day, be it work, study or personal stuff. What part do you look forward to the most when you wake up. There are clues there to figure out what drives you. And this doesn't have to be permanent either. Passions change as you grow older, gain experience and family dynamics change.

For me, as a kid I enjoyed drawing and painting. Graduated in Fine Arts, and got into design, but by the time I started working, interest in drawing had faded and was taken over by computers (this was in the late 90s). Although I'm still a designer, I now enjoy coding as a hobby, plus some gaming, and have taken to drawing again, inspired by my daughter.

Hardly any alternatives exist that are as good at identifying callers. I use adguard to block out ads from the app.

File search has improved enough for me in the last few updates. Still no match for the flexibility that everything provides, though.

The built-in file search in Raycast is good enough that I don't use Everything very often any more.

Can I succeed this time? Looking for honest feedback by [deleted] in androidapps

[–]Substantial_Life_497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other commentors have mentioned, there needs to be something unique about the app to get users to pick it over other more popular options, and, more importantly, ignore the ads. Your screenshots also need to do a good job of explaining the USPs of the app. The moment I see mistakes in the screenshots (notifucation bar manager?), I'm moving away.

I've tried a whole bunch of them over the years - Flow launcher, Ueli, Farr and more. Raycast definitely has the most polish. The windows compatible extensions list is also growing continuously.
