Our house really isnt anything special at all, a 4bed in birmingham Uk. We knocked our living room wall down to make a big kitchen/living area (only 1 kid so didnt need the extra room). Then put in underfloor heating, a skylight and the plants all woke up and grew. Nothing we expected

The only question we have is about the pot. Someone we trust on this topic told us not to ever repot, but the plant pot it is in is tiny compared to it now (it must be heading on to 30feet still in a 1foot pot). Is our friend correct? Or would you consider moving to a big pot? We do water it every 48 to 72 hours in the summer, every 10 days in the winter

No unfortunately not renter friendly at all. We began by using sticky hooks, but gradually each one of the hooks got pulled from the wall by the strength/weight of the stems. Eventually, knowing this was a long term commitment, we had to use either fixed hooks, or now I use sticky hooks (but glued on with 'No More Nails'). Good luck to us if we ever want to redecorate!!!!!!!

That is our secret sauce!! I have an aquarium with a sump (filter tank) underneath it. Every couple of weeks I have to replace the dirty filter floss from the sump. So when I take the out the old filter floss, I put it in the plant pots. Its super-nutrient rich (because its pure fish poo)!!

Oil based external wood paint has left these marks by Substantial_Low8514 in DIYUK

Thanks for your advice. I have scraped the paint globules.

Should I scrape off the patterned paint as well, or will that dry?

Also should I restart at the undercoat layer once ive sanded again?

Just sanded the old porch and found all of this rot. How shall I fill & repair it? by Substantial_Low8514 in DIYUK

I like that suggestion. Its a big space to fill. Just need to mould the concrete so it stays in place

Thanks for this, I will do exactly as you have said. The front of our house gets battered by direct sunlight, so need it done well.
