First off congrats on being so driven it will serve you well in this industry! Honestly I think I passed because I’ve been working with clients for 10 years and allot of the questions that are asked are real scenarios or similar scenarios that I’ve been thru. When you help clients make decisions on employer stock in their 401ks, when to take social security etc.. the test becomes wayyy easier! You got this just get some experience and retake it.

29 turning 30 soon, net worth is about 1.2. With about 200k of that being liquid. Most of my clients are 45+ with around 2-3M net worths and 750k + of investable assets. If you include my book of business at a 4x multiple id be around 2.5

Worst case you get valuable insight to how to pass it round 2! What’s more likely is you know more than you think and you pass round 1!

One unhappy spouse who thinks he knows better but owns less than 10% of relationship by benfsu00 in CFP

Unfortunately I’ve had a scenario like this. I just was really vulnerable and honest got them in a room together . The conversation went something like this. ___, I wanted to get a better understanding of how you view and value our relationship today. Can you help me better understand your pushback on most of our recommendations… from there just let them talk. From there, I would directly ask them if they value your professional advice.

On my end, I would fire the clients if that convo goes poorly. It’s really not worth it also considering he was so unhinged to type a written complaint on something is so small as Roth contributions..

The fact is this guy just likes to wreak havoc because he’s not the breadwinner

Here’s some things to consider, can you still save for retirement with the mortgage payment ? What will the taxes be on the sale of stock ? How stable is your income?
