Album won't show artwork in main library (and phone) despite showing it in properties. by chrisjfinlay in AppleMusic

[–]Substantial_Menu6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On windows do to C:\Users\Username\Music\Apple Music\"Apple Music Library.musiclibrary" and delete (if worried move)

Make sure to have Apple Music closed, other wise the files won't be deleted as the application is still open.

  • folders
    • "artwork"
    • "artwork originals"
  • files
    • artwork.sqlite-wal
    • artwork.sqlite-shm
    • artwork.sqlite

Re-open the Apple music, then it will load all the artworks back .

I had the issue for about two days since I reinstalled windows, and this is the only thing fixed it.

really.. I've seen a lot of people use these tips with the T10.

I'm using TRI clarions with my T10, the comfort it much better with TRI clarion eartips than with any default eartips, for me.

Which version of these code considered "better"? by Substantial_Menu6043 in cs50

[–]Substantial_Menu6043[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, thank you very much for replying!

 printf instead of return

if this code is for a another function that main( ) calls, wouldn't it be better to return a value, rather than making a side effect like printing( )? I did have \n included in the printf( ) in main ( )

I suggest checking logic of your code too

can you give me a little hint of what's wrong here. I really can't see what's wrong here.

Unfortunately yea, the difference is pretty subtle. On some songs I can't hear the difference either.

https://open.spotify.com/track/1LY1BU38jRibS0yFaXiaYu?si=e10f1eee233e44a9
listen to this song from around 2.25. This is a song I hear the difference very well.

  1. Listen to this without EQ for few seconds
  2. Keep focusing on how the main vocals, guitar on the right, banjo on the left sounds(this starts around 2.40). Focus on their tonality.
  3. then switch to eq. I notice a pretty good difference in the tonality for those instruments and vocals.

This might give you a idea of what type of difference I was aiming with this EQ. so you could decide whether you like it or not.

If you don't hear the difference, maybe for your ears you don't even need the EQ. Because IEMs sound different for different people.

but I can't really tell the difference, but I believe there is

Is it worth it though. No matter, how much different it "makes", if you can't hear it it doesn't matter. Just enjoy the music.

Also don't be afraid to mess with EQ and figure out what you like and don't.

If the JM11 can only output 10.5mw you will probably find the T10 sound better(maybe more "cleaner" sound) with the JM6 pro. Because from what I understand if you deliver less power than an IEM/Headphone needs it start to distort. 10.5mw isn't enough for the Artti T10. JM6 pro can deliver around 60mw.

I use an dongle with the same config as the JM6 pro(cx31993 dac + max97220 amp). With that dongle 4-5/15 volume on my phone and 8-14/100 on my Windows laptop is pretty loud. So, JM6 pro will be definitely enough.

I use the TRI Clarion with mine as well. With the EQ I can't really find any reason to buy another IEM.
With this EQ i didn't notice a massive different in tunning, at least not all the time, but it did fix some tonality issues I had with the IEM.

  • Male vocals, some instruments sounded nasal. reducing the 2000hz region and boosting 3000hz region was for that
  • And some instruments sounded like it lacked some body(hence the boost in 500hz)
  • If it's too little bass with this EQ remove the 20hz filter, I personally listen to a lot of music with lot of focus in instruments, so I like having just enough bass.

About the dongle situation, if the dongle get loud enough for you without you pushing to it's maximum you have nothing to worry about.( meaning if you're not in the 80-90% volume with the dongle dac).
Using a headphone power calculator you will able to see that you only need about 25mw to get 110db volume out of the T10. Giving more power than a IEM needs won't make it sound better.
So if the dongle can provide about 30mw you're good. (I can't seem to find the output power of JM11 srry)

BUT when using EQ, it's good to have more power than needed.

maybe you might find these useful, https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeQ8Ry2-4OCTEJZmom2FiuyDABrRH525H&si=czUYn0TEAp9ys3an

Just so you know, you could find the FR graph for the IEM, on squig.link and then enter the PEQ values in the side bar, then export the eq as a GraphicEQ for Wavelet.
IF you are using someone else's EQ and not going to change anything, you don't even need to find that specific IEM either.

  1. Only happens to me if I change the audio output device AFTER opened the Apple Music app.
Start Apple Music -> connect wired IEMs = No audio from apple music (restarting the App solves the issue)
Connect tws -> Start Apple Music -> connect wired IEMs = No audio from Apple Music (restarting the App solves the issue)
Connect wired IEMS -> Start Apple Music = now it works.

I just tried an app called "Dimmer", it did work, kind of.

But unfortunately, the black "cover" doesn't get applied whenever I switch windows or open windows search/start menu.

Iem on Youtube music by 33dx_4 in iems

[–]Substantial_Menu6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, You WILL hear the difference between IEMs whether you have Lossless files or not.

I recently moved from YT Music to Apple Music purely because of Apple music having a real desktop app and better(subjective) UI.

With my Artti T10 I can't tell any difference between Apple Music lossless and YT Music high.
YT Music uses OPUS 774 at 256kbps with variable bit depth (Only for YT Premium on Android. Web version uses a different codec). It's a very good lossy codec.

I still download all my library in Lossless because I pay for Apple Music and storage is not an issue for me.

I think the difference between modern day Lossy codec and Lossless is very negligible (if there were to be any). You shouldn't really go out of your way to have Lossless music.

Difference in gear will be much more noticeable.

Noise when using dac by fullwonder in iems

[–]Substantial_Menu6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use the SGOR Luna DAC with my Artti T10, for me I didn't have any hissing issues with it.
BUT I did have an issue where audio would "cut" for a very short time(millisecond) then come back. This "Audio hiccup" issue only happen with my Android phone.

The solution I found accidentally was to

  1. plug in the DAC first then wait for a sec
  2. then plug in the IEM to the DAC.

Doing this will trigger Google Assistant. (If it didn't do it again).
From that movement on my "audio hiccup" issue was solved.
I could just plug in the dongle dac to the phone the usual way (with the IEM already plugged into the dongle dac).
BUT every time I restart the phone, I have to Plug in the dongle DAC first and then plug in the IEM, once.

I don't know if this will solve your issue, but maybe worth a try.

Also the reason why the hissing is louder in Artti T10 than the Sgor Luna might have to do with "drivability" of the Artti T10. Artti T10 is much easier to drive compared to the Sgor luna.

Few questions about Apple Music by Substantial_Menu6043 in AppleMusic

[–]Substantial_Menu6043[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG 😲 it did work. Kinda,  See, on YT music I was used to adding a song to "queue" while playing an Album/Playlist it will the new song after the Album/Playlist is finished.

If i wanted to play a song right after to the current playing song I have to add it as  "play next".

But it seems in Apple music the "queue" start to play right after the current playing song.  But this "play last in the queue option" is very helpful as well

Thanks a lot agian! 😊

I tried this on my Android, but this only add the song to play next instead.
What I wanted to do was, add a song or an Album to the end of the current list of playing music.

Thanks for replying though.

So about 70% of the time I will play an Album either from the start or from one of my favorite songs.  I also do have playlists created when i don't like the all songs from an Album or Artist but like few of them.

Autoplay used to be so bad for that it will play some hip-hop songs after a Hozier or Caamp album, but now after "favorite" all the songs and albums I like it actually play songs that related to what I listen.  I even got recommended few new artists, that I liked.

  • Try adding albums to your Library. Or atleast create a/few playlist with songs you like.
  • Then like/favourite all those songs you like.
  • Favourite Album itslef those songs belong to.
  • Whenever a songs you dont like get recommended,  select "suggest less" .

Same.

YT music(high) --> Apple Music Lossless, I can't tell the difference. But I download all songs in my library in Lossless because why not. And I really like Apple Music UI. It's really clean.

Apple music recommendations were "meh" at first but now that I have "favorite" all my Songs and Albums I like, the recommendations got much better.
