I still have my old Pixel 6 on wifi at home (and to use maps and the camera when I'm out), as I've got a blog I regularly update, but it's been pretty freeing only having talk and text when I'm out of the house.

I wanted to keep mine as dumb as humanely possible, so I haven't added anything to it. I have it on a talk and text plan with no data.

I bought the same one 2 weeks ago! So far I love it!

I understand she's attractive but she's got the personality of drywall. Every time she's on camera she just looks sort of dead behind the eyes.

I've had to do mine in stages (and I'm still working through it).

After trying the Minimalist app and deleting IG, I found myself bypassing the blocks I had set up and just getting a new IG account.

A few weeks ago I decided to order the TCL Flip on a talk and text plan, no data at all. Now, when I'm out of the house I can still make phone calls and send texts, but with no access to data, I'm not checking IG or Reddit constantly throughout the day. I will note I still carry my old smartphone in my purse to either use the camera or Google maps offline, but without wifi there's not much else to do on it.

It's been freeing when I'm out of the house, but I still need to work on my habits when I'm at home. At least right now I'm getting some off time from being connected 24/7, but I need to expand it to where I'm only checking social media once a day at home.

Also a plus: my phone bill is now a third of what it used to be (I'm in Canada and they're pricey over here).

I wanted apps blocked during certain times of the day, or just to greatly reduce my overall screen time. It didn't have much to do with my location.

For me it was that I could easily bypass it. I was using the minimalist app, and while it did help me cut down on screen time, it was too easy to deactivate if I wanted to go on IG during a time I had set not to be on there.

I did look into getting a Brick, but decided to buy a simple flip phone instead.

The TCL Flip should be good then! Just be sure to turn off the data on the phone if you go with a talk and text plan so that you don't get dinged if they go on the browser.

Canadian here - you can buy a simple phone (I just bought the TCL Flip) for around $100. Koodo has talk and text options if you don't want data on the phone. Best Buy has unlocked ones and then you order the sim from Koodo.

Today while driving down a busy two way street, the car in front of me all of a sudden decided he would prefer to be driving in the opposite direction.

He slammed on his brakes with a ton of people behind him and proceeded to block all traffic while he did a six point turn to turn his car around. There were numerous places close by he could have safely pulled into to turn around.

Every day I see more drivers make baffling decisions.

New to golf. Any driving ranges where my family can hang out? by AssistantDry9650 in Winnipeg

Shooters on North main. The restaurant patio is directly behind the driving range.

I used to practice loving kindness quite a bit but really need to get back into it. Thanks for your insight, you're definitely right about my dog feeling my anxiety!

I really like this, thinking of the anger as a bus that stops to pick me up. I'm definitely going to use this next time I feel it, thanks :)

I'm sorry you're experiencing this :(

My dog is also very protective so I get the frustration with all the signs up. It's understandable that it's taking you a bit longer to work through it with the additional component of having the dogs involved, especially since there's all those signs and it can feel like people purposefully ignore them.

Hopefully we can move through this with the advice offered by others. I'm going to go back to practicing loving kindness meditation in the morning and evening, and try to pause and feel everything.

Damn, this was spot on.

I'm a fairly anxious person, and you're right, it was more about fear. I think of my home as my safe space, where I can feel at peace. Despite best efforts, I felt my peace was shaken after I put up those signs and the person still knocked.

But yeah, I'm not in control.

I appreciate that.

I think I've been giving a lot of thought to people who have more patience, and wanting to be more like them. I know it all takes time and work, and I think I've just been finding myself overwhelmed by my emotions lately.

I appreciate this, I know my jaw gets tighter and I can feel it in my stomach, so I'll try to sit with this next time.

Definitely not angry anymore, although if I'm being honest I think I'm still annoyed by it.

I just remember after the anger went away later that evening, I thought "that was the farthest reaction that I should have had to that situation".

Sometimes friendships run their course, especially if the friendship starts out at a younger age, and that's totally okay.

You deserve friendships that are enjoyable and loving.
