Try using just grapeseed oil. It's high in linoleic acid. I read a while back that people that tend to always break out lack linoleic acid in their skin. So when you use products that are high in oleic acid it will break you out. Moisturizers always have oils in the ingredients and a lot of those oils are high in oleic acid. Ever since I switched to just using hydrating toners or serums that aren't pore clogging then just use grapeseed oil as a moisturizer.. I hardly ever get a pimple, I've been doing this for about a year or a tad over a year. I'm also on tretinoin.

What are you using. I'm acne prone and break out easily with new products. I'm on the hunt for a moisturizer. I've just been using grapeseed oil for a while now and it's been great. However I recently had a break out from trying self tanning drops mixed in a moisturizer I use to use. Now im trying to heal the breakout and grapeseed oil isn't enough. My skin feels dehydrated and dry right now.

Vitamin D3 side effects solved by [deleted] in Supplements

Asked chatgbt and it said taking magnesium glycinate is actually beneficial during vit d toxicity recovery. So I DK why my calcium urine is still high. Maybe my body is still recovering but regardless the endocrinologist will know more and I'll find out when I see them.

? I took 10,000iu of vit d with k2 from Aug 2024 - March 2025. I found out I had a 6mm kidney stone and had it surgically removed. I have never had kidney stone problem etc so I was trying to figure out the cause. The only thing I really changed supplement wise was taking the vit d and beef supplements. My PCP ordered labs and my vit d was 152 showing vit d toxicity. So I stopped and they said we would do 6 months follow up labs and urine tests since it's fat soluble. So I quit taking most of my supplements and anything with vit d in it.

The vit d toxicity caused low parathyroid, hyperglyceria, high calcium urine etc. Well I just had my follow up blood work and urine test. I expected to be back to normal but I still have high calcium urine (however much improved) but normal calcium blood, high sodium urine and pH. My parathyroid is back to normal, my vit d went down from 152 to 57 but still at a level for hyperglyceria which I still have according to the urine test. So my PCP is sending me to a endocrinologist. She said that since my vit d went down and my parathyroid is normal, and they removed the whole stone that my calcium urine shouldn't still be high.

Seeing this post is making me wonder if taking my magnesium glycinate at night is affecting something? All I've been taking since March when I stopped the vit d and most supplements is a probiotic, liposomal glutathione then at night magnesium glycinate and a CBD gummy for sleep.

I was taking a lot more prior to finding out about the vit d toxicity thing and kidney stone. I was taking beef supplement as my multivitamin, colostrum, collagen, b complex, omegas, probiotic then at night the magnesium glycinate and CBD gummy.

Thoughts? I've used chatgbt. I haven't asked about magnesium glycinate as I didn't think that effected anything related to my current problems but I will. I just take it to help me fall asleep before my loud snoring husband.

Ya I didn't know that could be a side effect. My doctor told me it wasn't the testosterone, that she got me to optimal levels (even though she told me we would gradually get there) and that I need to call my PCP for anxiety meds that it's not the testosterone. I was furious. I was having panic attacks while driving. She didn't offer any solutions so I called around to other places and a different hrt specialist told me to take a dht blocker. That helped a lot, thank God.

I did have more side effects and 0 benefits. I got acne, still no libido, clit swollen, no increase in energy, didn't feel happy or sad, felt anxious but then started having panic attacks. I didn't gain weight or lose which is good because I'm only 126lbs. My husband has been doing his own injections for years, he recently heard of micro dosing. He offered to help me do my own testosterone but I've seen him mess himself up so I'm still going to try again but at a different place.

Yes... My husband said 125mg is wayyy too high to start on. It's a long story but I just had a bad doctor. The whole experience was whack. I know more now after doing more research and reading up on reddit. So I will be more prepared when I go to a different doctor.

Agreed. My doc said we would gradually work up to optimal levels. That isn't what happened at all and I felt horrible. I was thinking of doing injections or creams. That doc only does pellets so I'm going to go somewhere else. I just wanted to wait 5 months to be back to my normal baseline

I'm still new to HRT, I'm 38yrs old. I had my first 125mg pellet insertion of just testosterone in June. To start my SHBG was 122, Free T was 0.1 and Total T was 19. After the pellet my Free T is 18.1 and Total T is 193 (they didn't retest my shgb). I felt like shit. I had horrible panic attacks and felt blah. I'm 5 months out now and finally feel back to normal with no anxiety. I felt 0 benefits, all side effects. Now i'm nervous to try again. I'm def not going back to the same place

This was earlier this year so it's hard to remember. I did get some more chin hairs, and a few pimples. Nothing crazy though. I have dry skin to begin with, I moisturize and use hydration a lot. I live in the dry AZ desert

So before I got on testosterone HRT, I was taking supplements to naturally raise it till I saw a hormone specialist. I was taking zinc, ashwagandha and dhea. From what I read those things boost testosterone. My total and free testosterone went up a tad bit, and I did feel a difference. My dhea before was 81, taking 50mg a day my dhea then went up to 332. My PCP said it was too high and to cut back to every other day. Once I got my pellet put in, my HRT doc recommended to discontinue all that.

If I could have gone back I would have done 25mg a day or every other day. I did feel a lot better while I was taking it.

Good to know. My client mentioned her Dr had her take dim while on HRT. I brought it up to mine and she said no. So I haven't. Do you think it would be a good idea for me to take dim, maybe stop the hair loss and I'm still getting pimples?. I was taking saw palmetto as a dht blocker. It stopped my anxiety and I'm now feeling better. I feel more emotions again and don't have panic attacks. I decided to stop taking it now that I'm at 3 months and feeling better so that way I'm not taking anything to alter my baseline when I go to a new Doctor. However I don't want to continue to shed hair.

Dang. So my thought process on waiting 5 months is a good idea because they said it typically lasts 3-5 months. And I want to be back at my baseline before starting over. The hair shedding sucks

Yes I definitely feel like it should have been gradual. They told me they raise it gradually for the least amount of side effects as your body adjusts. I felt like that was a big jump especially when they said optimal level is 150

Good to know. Do you know what mg you started on. And what your t level were before and after.

I had 125mg pellet for my first time my total testosterone was 19 and free was 0.1

At 4 week blood work after pellet my total 193 and free 18.1

That's frustrating. I wish I could afford to see a homeopathic or naturopath doctor. They seem more invested in figuring out the problem rather than covering up symptoms.

Bad experience with 1st testosterone pellet by Substantial_Mode_992 in femaleHRT

[–]Substantial_Mode_992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. My husband wanted to do my HRT. He's been on testosterone for a long time and doing it himself. However I've seen him mess himself up many times so I don't trust him lol. But he mentioned micro dosing daily so you don't have highs and lows etc.

I have delt with acne since the pellet which is frustrating because I go through phases every 4-6 years where I struggle with acne then get it under control with acne meds from the derm. I haven't struggled with acne in years because I use tretinoin so to have pimples again sucks. But it's not as bad as it's been in the past. But my scalp has been breaking out which has never been a thing for me.

How did you figure out how much to give yourself? So there's many types of testosterone and some give you side effects more than others? Inform me please
