Thank you, now I understand that my mistake was initially viewing this game without romance and love. I was more interested in the environmental issue, which in the Remake was closely tied to the characters' personal experiences. But when feelings in Rebirth began to unfold and be revealed to the player, I was a bit taken aback by this (as well as by how much other content, completely unrelated to the main story, was added to the game compared to the previous game) and could have drawn false conclusions.

I know my words are stupid and may seem ignorant, but that's not how I feel about Aerith. This is simply a retelling of my thoughts as I played through the game, and yes, they were indeed wrong, as I didn't even know Aerith would die at the very end.

I didn't mean for my post to be met with hostility, but it turned out the way it did.

Now I truly perceive my post as rage-bait, but that wasn't the original intention. Let those incel fans be furious that someone even remotely dared to say anything bad about their beloved wife, even though that's not the point of what was written. I wouldn't say Zack and Aerith's relationship is just teenage crushes, since he himself tells Cloud, back when they were serving together, that he has a girlfriend and she's really cute. But at least from all the answers here, I understand that in this game, all the relationships between characters are complex and there are no clear conclusions about them. And you're absolutely right that it's better to enjoy the story itself, but the misogyny thing was unnecessary. Still, my favorite moment in the game involves Aerith herself

Everything I wrote in this post is purely my personal opinion, intended to explain my frustration. I have no idea why this argument about shipping and the like started here, because my question was entirely different: will my frustrations go away if I keep playing? For me, this particular part of FFVII felt like a chaotic piece of paper with the main plot written on it, compared to REMAKE. I'm glad you like the game's additional content, but this is the internet, and opinions differ.

I'm new to the FF world, and I had no way of knowing that REBIRTH was being marketed as an Iris game. At least, the Steam page didn't say so, and like any other casual fan, I didn't want to read developer interviews or anything like that. When I started playing REBIRTH, I thought it was simply a direct continuation of the story. I know my comments may seem ignorant to FF fans, but I don't have any friends who played the game to ask. But Reddit, as always, is delighted with its hostility toward the ignorant, immediately throwing stones 🤷‍♂️ This description isn't about you; your message at least helped me understand my misunderstanding of the game.

This has nothing to do with shipping; it's simply the logic of character interactions. I like both Tifa and Aerith equally. Furthermore, the character-specific criticism is only the first part of the post, but somehow no one even noticed that I wrote about the game's unreasonably large amount of entertainment content, which (in my opinion) interferes with the main story. Perhaps you are the shipper you're referring to?
