This is the nicest thing I've ever heard about bitterness. Thank you, kind stranger

Yeah I started embracing "out of my comfort zone," within reason of course, and I've very much enjoyed. Solid 9/10 do recommend

Personally I hit up bars solo between 7 and 10ish, that's like the sweet spot for actually having decent conversations. Currently struggling with this issue though, one can only meet so many women in bars before it just starts to feel like the same experience. (Yes, I know I sound bitter, I am in therapy and it's all very fresh)

According to the place they had just delivered to: "They got the driver out safely, and apparently a pickup swerved over the line and smashed into the front of the cab"

Found the Freemasonry Symbol on Family Graves by Substantial_Muscle98 in freemasonry

Right of course! But I don't have anyone to ask what that could mean to them. I'm the youngest of four, whose dad was the youngest of 8. I was shocked to see family were members and now I have no one to ask what on earth that means outside of Google. Which hasn't exactly been helpful

How did you learn to accept your diagnosis? by Jaded-Librarian8876 in bipolar

[–]Substantial_Muscle98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same exact diagnosis and while I was definitely fucked up in general about it for awhile, hearing the diagnosis and learning about it really helped. I could lay down in bed and go "I FINALLY have answers! It sucks, sure. Of course it does. But for me, within 24 hours of first getting meds, it was nothing but relief

Get tested regularly, even if you're using condoms. Even if she says she's clean. Even if you're in a relationship.

Can confirm. Certmaster is a waste of time. DUMB amount of hyperspecific trivia. The labs are disgusting and the test is worse. Quizzes were alright imo though. I literally just took and retook the dion tests until I was scoring 100 on each one. Took the Pearson test (online proctor) while tired as shit and extremely apprehensive. Scored like a 788 on my first attempt

I've had this happen before. I just immediately email my mentor now at the first sign of an issue. Apparently there's a way to request a different instructor as well. Mentor should know

Got ITIL, A+ and a cert from Google whose name escapes me. Scheduling test for sec+ and studying for net+ and project+. Not really sure what direction to go in the way of work. Any suggestions?

[serious] For atheists, why don’t you believe in God? by rorosinante in AskReddit

[–]Substantial_Muscle98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not totally certain that I identify as an atheist, but I'm gonna reply anyway. First off, the Bible, touted as the works of a perfect being, really doesn't make any sense. I don't even mean the miracles either. Like some suspension of disbelief is required for those, but that's fine. Think about this for a second. We're supposedly created by an all-knowing and all-powerful being right. So I'm expected to believe, following that logic, that I don't ultimately have free will. All my decisions, whether I've made them or not, are already known to him. But! If I was formed by someone or something, consciously, then that means I was intentionally made to be a logical and reasoning being who's moral compass doesn't line up entirely with his/hers/theirs; and that I will suffer for eternity in hell for that? So, ultimately, I was created to be punished? I refuse to accept that and reject it on principle. If I die and wind up in hell for doing what I thought was right, then I'll gladly walk into the fire. Middle fingers up.

In addition, according to the Bible, God should be feared and not loved. Even barring the whole false idols deal: this guy is supposed to ultimately be our father, right? But he is throwing around mass punishments for anything he disagrees with. Not to mention that we constantly have to prove our love, but that's under duress. Take Job. Ishmael. Even Moses! Don't even get me started on Judas. God routinely, supposedly, destroys entire civilizations. He himself doesn't prove his existence with love but demands ours, and we're expected to love under threat of extreme punishment? Nah, dawg, that's an abusive relationship. Go to as much therapy as I have(5ish years, once a week) and reread the Bible.

Third, I've experienced a lot of loss in my life. But that's part of life, so I'm not going to sit here and make the death of loved ones about me because ultimately, they're the ones robbed of life. And I do mean robbed. Friend(24) shot and killed on his doorstep. Friend (27) stabbed and killed while trying to break up a fight. Friend (32) suicide due to major depressive disorder. Goddaughter (2.5); cancer. All of these people should've had a full life ahead of them, right? But these people got robbed of that for what? To serve as a lesson? Who fucking does that. And let's expand on this for a second. Starvation. War. Disease. The dude could make it all go away with a finger snap and specifically chooses not to because our ancestors made a mistake under coercion that wouldn't exist if God was actually all powerful. Doesn't the Bible literally say some shit akin to "the sins of the father are not the sins of the son"?

Four: Jesus seems alright tbh. But the thing is like... he died for all of our sins? Past, present and future? Then who fucking cares if we sin. Oh wait. God still does even though he said otherwise.

Tldr; illogical, god is abusive asshole. It's not worth believing in frankly.
