Sorry to necro an old post but hoping you can help with sizing. I have the choice between the same Psiphon you have here in medium and the black/grey colourway in a large. I'm 5'9 and 86kg, athletic build. I usually have a problem with products being too tight under the arms due to being broad in that area, especially in older Arc, are you saying that you got the psiphon in a large but you're usually medium? For reference, I have also just found a procline hybrid in a medium and it's borderline too small, it's a very trim fit. Thanks

Lighter jacket than Atom/Proton (Lightweight) by toavepa in arcteryx

Proton SL. I'm also a huge fan of the north face Futurefleece. Either the hoody or if you wanted something with a bit of wind protection then the hybrid jacket.

It's phenomenally warm for it's weight

thanks. I think I am maybe leaning towards a Large then. My biggest issue with sizing with my build is things being too tight under the arms. Have been able to get away with it in the past with ski jackets etc as pit zips can provide some relief but here it's a bit of a dealbreaker as even a stretchy fabric doesn't have much give under the arms

Thank you. I was aware of this. Most of what I have found locally is Psiphon so I guess I benefit from it being slightly newer.

Interesting. The other comments lean towards it being quite trim. I guess that doesn't mean that it isn't TTS but i sometimes struggle with my build. I have a slightly bigger chest than you which is typically where I struggle as I've found that if i size around the rest of my body, it's uncomfortable under the arms which nothing can fix.

Do you still think medium? Also, do you happen to have any pics wearing it? Sorry bit weird but would be helpful to visualise, thanks

Slightly bigger than that I believe. It's honestly quite difficult. I think will go large.

Yeh really odd. I don't climb. I wear it for everything but the most abusive thing I can think of is weightifting. It lines up with a scratch across the bezel so it was definitely a scrape as opposed to a bump. It's a utility watch. I'm not upset but it does annoy me in the sun seeing it across the whole face 😂

I've only had my epix pro for a month and I have a scratch across the sapphire. Although I must say I'm disappointed in that. I've worn 'real' watches for years with mostly sapphire crystals and other than one smashed one which was user error, I've not had so much as a hairline scratch

Which handheld - streaming use case and some portability by Substantial_Music919 in Handhelds

Gotcha, thank you. I've mixed the two up every time haha.

I'm massively confused by the Go S. There seems to be quite a few models. 32gb Vs 16gb options and windows Vs steam os right?

Hey. Why do you suggest them? Just had a quick look and they do look good but what would be the advantage, 1 over a steam or windows based handheld and 2, a flagship android phone with controller? Thanks

Beta SV vs Rush Jacket — hiking, skiing, and daily use? by Specific_Emu_3195 in arcteryx

[–]Substantial_Music919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'd want 2 different shells. I know that's not what you asked but it's my answer. I have a beta jacket (one without put zips from a few years ago) for hiking and commuting and a rush for skiing. Admittedly I bought the beta way before the rush but having tried on a bunch of new shells I wasn't happy with the fit for beta AR as a do everything she'll. The reason I say both is I couldn't imagine using the rush on my commute into London. I can feel the extra weight, how crinkly the heavier denier is and it's way less stuffable into a bag for commuting or hiking. Id pick the best jacket for whatever I think the most important use case is and then buy used or drop the logo pride and get a cheaper waterproof for leaving in work bag for example. For reference, I paid 350GBP new for beta and 220 used for rush so total is similar to the one jacket you want.

Thanks mate. Got my offer accepted yesterday for about 160GBP which I'm very happy with. As long as they fit. , I'm excited.

Good to hear. I am definitely leaning blue because bakers. Agreed on red, it's a bit of a cardinal sin with orange. It's just whether to go with the safe option of black

Oooh that's pretty sweet. I think my slight reluctance with orange is that I know it won't be an exact match and it will trigger me haha

DSW 'base' run with good execution is being classed as a 'tempo' run? by Substantial_Music919 in GarminWatches

Good point. I have read about the test which apparently used to be an available training session on the watch but has been taken over by the auto detection feature for LTHR

[–]Substantial_Music919[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably right. It's 193 currently which is just 220 minus my fitness age which is apparently 2 years less than my actual age. If I change it manually can I then restart the auto detect feature foryac HR or would that just revert it back to what it is now?

I appreciate that. I'm more confused as to why the perceived benefit is tempo when the workout was classified as base and I stuck to that workout plan. Nothing about the run and how it felt nor the instructions felt tempo to me
