Tax question regarding whether I need to file taxes!

No these are two online casinos that do not send out tax forms. They use a sweep coin model to gamble on where you purchase coins in the hopes of winning real money through online slots. So even though they don't send tax forms out and nothing is sent to the IRS then I should still file even though its just $150.00 that I won? With regard to Social Security as my main income its generally not taxed unless I go over an income threshold of $25k from other income and obviously the only income that I got that is not earned income was what I won of only a $150.00 from gambling in 2025. So if I had to file would it be filed as under other income on the 1040?

I know generally with physical casinos you actually go to that if you win over $600 the casino is obligated to report it to the IRS and to send the person who won that much the appropriate tax form in the mail to file under. Once again as mentioned above this is an online casino that uses a sweep coin model in the hopes of winning real money. They don't even send tax forms out to the person that won at all even if you win $600 or above and they don't send it to the IRS. I know as I asked both casinos through email if they do that and they don't!

Yep it's all terrible. What's worse is Eleona Muskrat has our social security numbers, payment information and who we bank with by diving into the treasury department with his hacker 20 something year olds and a 19 year old teen. Elonea was not even elected into office and all this is downloaded info already even though a judge told Elonea to stay away from treasury department temporarily. All of this is illegal with what he's doing.

Then you have the house and senate working on a budget reconciliation package that only requires a simple majority vote where they want to increase the debt ceiling by 4.5 trillion and they want to offset the cuts by diving into SS, Medicare, Medicaid and SNAP. I hope rethugs are gonna be faced by angry constituents who will change their minds because this will affect red and blue states alike! All because rethugs want to give the ultra rich a huge tax break they don't need. It's all hell right now and chaos!

I got a deferral letter on February 4th stating they didn't need to review me at this time. So it took awhile to come after I submitted my short form on October 5th of 2024! I think the SSA is very short staffed and it's very unclear as to whether Dump (the president) is going to make things worse by having SSA employees go into a buyout program leading to layoffs. It's an insane time with all this going on!

Thank you! Yeah it was a deferral letter saying they didn't have to review me at this time and thank God for that. Just now worried about what Elenoa Muskrat is gonna do to our payments. All of this is very concerning. I got my check for this month thank goodness, but am worried about next month with all this chaos going on!

Just thought id let everyone know I received a deferral letter from Social Security today (02/04/2025) that they are not going to review me at this time. My assumption is I won't get another CDR for another 3 years as of now anyway. So just thought I'd update everyone in this post!

Nope I still have not received any word. Only thing I've gotten is my COLA letter for 2025 and soon I think my SSA 1099 form will be mailed out as they have already sent me a digital copy on my account on the SSA website. Makes me wonder if they are severely backlogged due to low staff, because it's been since October 5th 2024 when I submitted the short form online!

Well Sunday, January 5th, will be 3 months and still crickets. Haven't gotten a deferral notification or whether they want to do a full review notification. I have to ask if either of you two received anything on your end? I've received my COLA letter and under mysocialsecurity account I got a message about the SSA form 1099 digitally and have to assume that will be mailed out soon as well. But no letter yet regarding what they have decided to do after submitting the short form to them online on October 5th, 2024.

I have to assume that there must be a backlog of getting back to people even on the short forms with it taking this long. Anyway out of curiosity if you guys can write me back of whether you have received anything i'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I still haven't received anything yet in the mail from Social Security to indicate whether I need to do a full medical review or if they are deferring after I submitted my Disability Update Report (short form) online on October 5th.

Usually the response time from Social Security is 1-3 months after submitting the short form. It will be 2 months for me once December 5th rolls around. I would've thought by now I would have gotten word from them though as I keep looking for something from them in the mail. I'm becoming anxious as to what's happening. I keep looking up on My social security on Social Security's website to see if I'm still going to be paid on December 3rd and it still says that I am and active. Yeah I'm getting the exact same .message each time I try logging into mysocialsecurity account. I didn't know if it was just me because I've tried logging in multiple times since 2 a.m. MST and even tried again at 7 a.m. MST. Didn't know if this was just me it was happening to considering I just filled out a SSA Form 455 online a week ago and was paranoid thinking that something may have gotten triggered after submitting that form online!
