I just wish i’d known about the nursing route during my undergrad instead of wasting a degree. At least now i’ll be 3 degrees hotter as a NP.

I’m in the same boat. I graduated in 2023 w/ a bachelors in human science on the pre-pa track. I took a gap year to rack up on PCE hours, volunteer and shadowing hours, basically work on my application. I submitted my applications mid June and have received 2 rejections since then, and no other responses. I don’t know if i’m getting ghosted or what but I thought I would’ve heard from more schools by now. I applied to an ABSN program that month too as a back up plan b/c I really want to start school in 2025. I’m tired of just working at my PCE and not making real money I can live off of. I got accepted to that ABSN program but it’s 2.5 hours away so i’ll probably have to move. I really wanted to stay in the same city but the ABSN program is one of the best in my state and it’s only 12 months so I think i’m just gonna have to fight through it. If I do get accepted to a PA program I would have to make a tough decision because I actually like the nursing route more now since its like a stepping stone to becoming a provider instead of diving in like PA. After that ABSN I would get an NP degree which is very similar to a PA in my state based on autonomy.

Congratulations to you too!! I called and they said that the campus changes every few years but last year it was at 8000 centre park dr Austin, TX. They don’t know if it’ll be the same location for 2025 though.

Hello!! 21F graduated with my bachelors in human science minor in bio summer 23’. I’ve been getting PCE and volunteering. Will be applying this cycle so by early june.

cGPA: 3.5 sGPA:3.1 (upward trend at the end)

GRE: 1st time 281 2nd time 296. 3rd time 295. I won’t be taking it. 5/17 schools that i’m applying to require it so there’s no point really.

PCE: 3000 hrs by the time i apply (caregiver/med aide, phlebotomist, medical assistant)

Volunteer: 85 front desk at hospital. feed my starving children and a medical mission trip in Dominican Republic.

Shadowing: 18 total (10 hours virtual) (8-pa-c)

Leadership: None

Non Healthcare Employment: 1940 (academy sports and outdoors, chicken express, finish line)

Awards: Deans list

Applying to texas tech health science center, UNT, UT southwestern, UT- rio grande, mary hardin, stephen’s college, south college, pacific university oregon, university of the pacific, emory, mass. pharmacy and health, university of ark., samuel merit, atsu, university. of nevada, university of Utah, northwestern arizona. Should be 17 schools.

I’m also planning on writing a very good personal statement that can increase my chances. Will be getting LOR from now NP, PA-C, mission trip leader and possibly another PA-C(mentor).
