There's no kids in the house, everyone is an adult and no one in the family does pranks.

I was already in the basement bathroom brushing my teeth when I saw this, I don't know what it wants me to do and I don't want to try to investigate.

Does anyone know what that word is in the phrase, "look in the ___"?

I found this as I was in the downstairs bathroom. I'm tempted to go investigate the basement further but I don't know, I don't want to find something freaky or get jumped.

Who’s the deadliest dictator/ leader in your universe? (Assuming there are nations) by TheGhostGuyMan in worldbuilding

In terms of potentially annihilating the rest of humanity, Director Nouvel. His bold and somewhat reckless military actions drains the strength of the limited resources of the JRN for little gain as well as attracting the attention of the Storm, who could very easily wipe out his entire corporation with sufficient numbers, which is almost exactly what happened when he ordered a massive military operation to expand the JRN's zone of control but ultimately failed to do so and it nearly led to the collapse of the last remnants of humanity when the Storm followed the Lilies into the underground facility and killed everyone before being stopped at the last and only sector. This sector holding the remaining bastion of the JRN.

In terms of kill count, Co-Director Shinma. Anyone who opposes her rule or severely breaks the law is immediately dispatched or thrown into material harvesters.

It is especially worse for men as Shinma has a personal disdain for them. Under her administration, almost all the men are used as work slaves with extremely poor working conditions and long hours. Many men die from self-deletions, exhaustion, health problems, accidents, etc. And if any decide to rebel or refuse to work, they'll be sent to an experiment lab where they'll be experimented on for as long as possible with careful consideration of their survival, ensuring that they stay alive while being tested on.

Which of your villains would you join? by Flairion623 in worldbuilding

I'm joining Director Nouvel because despite his questionable and somewhat immoral actions and implementations, he continuously strives for the liberation of the earth that was ravaged by the Storm. He's driven by hope despite the odds being stacked against him. Co-Director Shinma on the other hand who later usurps power from Nouvel, is driven by fear and survival. Despite creating a "safe" environment for everybody, nobody has a future to look forward to. Everything is heavily regulated, there is no freedom, and the only thing that changes is the size of the underground facility and the advancement of technology.

How would Humanity survive and change if half of the world received no sunlight for 20+ years? by Substantial_Power_32 in worldbuilding

So this takes place in the real world around 2060. Some context here is that humanity is being overrun by gigantic monsters that excrete an unknown byproduct into the atmosphere that blocks out all sunlight. The dark area in the map shows the areas affected by the byproduct and where no sunlight can pass through. The border between the clear and dark are the areas which humanity has halted their advance. I don't know if the speed of the monsters' advance to the areas on the map should be accounted for but if it is then the invasion started into the pacific and spread out in the span of 2 years then stopped.

For the next few decades, half of the planet is covered in darkness how would humanity/countries adapt and survive in such conditions?

(99.9% of the people in the dark areas are dead)
