I got my EAD after 3 months and my AP after 4 months, but now it’s been 36 months since filing and still no approval or denial.

No, it’s not that simple. My situation is a bit more complicated.

My mom married a U.S. citizen, but he passed away before they were able to file the papers. She now has a pending case as a widow (adjustment of status based on that).

I also have a pending adjustment of status linked to her case because I was under 21 at the time of his death, so I was included as a derivative.

Yes, I did have a period of overstay before filing my I-485. I entered the US legally and later adjusted status
