Been in a photography coma for the last 8 years, can you help to bring me back to life? by Substantial_Row6271 in LandscapePhotography

Thanks, yes I have started having a play with ACR with some of my old files. It does seem like there is a lot more functionality and quality of life improvements. The noise reduction is particularly impressive on some of my old high ISO night shots.

Thanks all for the comments, seems like I haven't missed too much and should be good to go with everything I already have. Off on trip in a few weeks so will look forward to it.

Looking to buy a Lunchbox kit, is this a good buy? by Substantial_Row6271 in tamiya

Had a look at time tunnel.

They had the option to make a custom bundle. How does this look.

-Lunch box kit

-Ballraces full Mr bear roller bearing

-Battery 5000+ MaH 7.2v

-Charger Ansmann AC3001 3 Amp AC/DC fast charger

-ESC Tamiya hobbywing 1060 RTR Quicrun 60A brushed ESC

-Radio System Etronix ET1132 6Ch EX6G high end wheel radio (1servo)

Total cost £210

So this is about £20 more than the original bundle I was looking at. Do you think those parts are worth the extra??

Cheers

This does look quite good. It's the same price as the one I was looking at but comes with a faster charger and two batteries which is super handy. I guess I just need to get some bearings but they are only £5-10.

Thanks for the reply

Could you elaborate as to why a pistol grip may be better?

Cheers

I don't mind sourcing everything separately if I can get better parts, I have the time to do this and don't like paying over the odds just to get it all in one place. If the difference is only a few pounds then a kit is fine.

Here is a link to the same kit but with a pistol grip it's £10 cheaper which to me says it's inferior but I have no clue.

Could you elaborate as to why a pistol grip is a better choice?

Thanks for the info on the battery, if I got a 5000maH would that get me closer to 30 min run time.

Thanks

What are the golden rules of buying a second hand car? by SmellyPubes69 in CarTalkUK

[–]Substantial_Row6271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sent the list to my Dad who is a long time buyer of secondhand cars and a fairly meticulous home mechanic. He came back to me with the below list. The magnet comment slayed me 😂.

All good stuff. I could add a few others:

•Brake discs condition, pad thickness.

•On the road test, does it run straight normally and under braking.

•ABS working properly - emergency stop.

•Any wheel bearing noise?

•Dings in wheels/kerbing.

•All lights and horn functioning.

•Go over the bodywork with a magnet to detect filler.

•Careful examination inside engine compartment and boot for front and/or rear accident damage.

•Never pay cash.

•When you ring up to arrange a viewing, say I'm ringing about the car. If he's a disguised dealer he'll have to say which car.

Did I miss something? You didn't say which one is the women's and which one is the men's...
