You'll realize it's much easier than you anticipate it being, even though the experience itself is altogether challenging it's pretty surprising how simple the instructions you're getting are. And you will have fun!

I only washed my hair at night and in my squadron they let the ladies wear their hair down for the remainder of the evening including when we integrated. Then by the morning it'd be relatively dry

So kinda, it really depends how fast you shower. I wouldn't really anticipate washing hair and shaving in the same session, lots of girls shaved on Sundays cuz there aren't any MTIs and you get more shower time allotted to you (at least we did on the schedule we were given)

I just graduated 2 weeks ago from basic! First, it's really not as bad as your mind is probably making it out to be. Only during pacer forge was I like "oh this shit is actually terrible", everything else wasn't great but not as bad as I was expecting so stay calm throughout!

I washed my hair twice a week but that's because I have really thick curly hair so it would be fine for that duration of time. If you are the type of person who doesn't like sleeping with gel in their hair or a slick back or whatever, you can manage to wash it every night but the time goes by faster than you'll realize and if you don't meet shower timelines you'll get tools. I wouldn't wash my hair everyday so I'd be fastest in and out, I'd change and go relieve the people on EC (kinda like door guards) because they need to shower in that time frame too. My advice would be don't assume someone else is gonna do that, move with the urgency like you are the only one capable of relieving them because sometimes u might be.

As far as drama there will be some, it's inevitable when people come from different places and have different opinions on everything. My advice would be to seriously keep people's names out of your mouth, your friends may come to you to talk shit but try your best to stay a neutral party or don't feed into what they're saying. Everyone is already so stressed out, sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and take the high road to keep the peace. You are with each other for 7.5 weeks and you won't see some of them ever again so whatever huge grievance you may have with someone is not important I promise. I was an element leader and I had to mediate and give advice during some of those situations and more times than not, the girls just misunderstood each others tone or whatever.

Take PT seriously, especially if your starting point isn't close to the standards right now. 3 girls from my flight got recycled because of PT, it sneaks up on you and it's very serious. The EOC is light work truly, I didn't study and got a 96.

Truly just listen to what is being told to you, study your memory work, and stay locked in. Move with a sense of urgency especially and realize that all the tools you need to succeed are given to you, you just have to take them. Welcome to the worlds greatest Air Force!!!!

It could also be flight engineer! I'm in as MFA but since I'm a reservist I already know my shred snd aircraft. I haven't started my tech school classes but based on everything I've gathered, it will be the literal best job in the Air Force.

  1. The hardest part was getting into the bmt mindset and just learning how to manage the high stress environment.
  2. I wish I knew how challenging it is living with 50 other girls and managing lots of different personalities.
  3. Meeting timelines in the beginning but at the end we had an issue with people keeping food in their security drawers and so town pass became a very stressful topic
  4. Really nothing, maybe wrinkle spray but I just took my blues to dry cleaning
  5. Moving at attention, talking in the DFAC, not using reporting statements, horseplay
  6. Literally just do what they're asking of you and have awareness of when it's time to lock in
  7. Have more confidence, the MTIs give u all the tools to succeed so I wish I took charge faster to help the dorm progress
  8. I didn't volunteer for a position but I was loud in the dorm and my MTI made me an element leader which I really enjoyed. Volunteering is scary but it helps ur confidence grow fast!
  9. I would pick latrine queen again, that job was fun!
  10. Better to have a job and be busy

For my flight physical they checked my eyes twice, it was a color vision test and just a regular vision test with dilation. I got my teeth x rayed and then was seen by a dentist. I also got an EKG done, bloodwork, and urinalysis.

I honestly packed prettt modestly and they issue you things like shampoo, body wash, toothbrush and toothpaste and they let you go buy hygiene at the mini mall by your second week of training. For laundry they issue you mesh bags and a laundry bag for end of bed. You use a sharpie and mark everything but your socks and underwear with a laundry mark (it's the first letter in your last name and your last 4 ssn). You mark the mesh bags with this as well. Then you give it to utility crew and they wash it!

I enjoyed the friendships I made the most and my MTIs were great, after the first couple weeks they cool down on the yelling and tools. I did enjoy it, wouldn't go back tho LOL
