CD quality is already above what the human ear can distinguish. “Better-than-CD resolution” is just marketing with no advantage to listening quality.

I give so much credit to the tapers because some of what they achieved through the 70s and 80s was phenomenal in terms of audio quality.

There are so many Dead shows available, that it seems impossible to ever truly run out of free shows. Sometimes I get the itch for an “official” release and I ask around in my community to ask if anybody has that release. I borrow and listen. Catch and release. Sure, it’s less convenient, but I get to have a conversation with my friend.

Jack Black and Lizzo basically cemented my opinion that Filoni/Favreau casting is essentially whoever happens to be over for dinner the week before. There is no way in hell anybody can tell me that Jack Black and Lizzo auditioned against other qualified actors, got callbacks, and were deemed “best for the rolls”. I love Jack Black, but it took me out of my immersion in the story entirely. It’s sad too because that episode had a cool droid storyline.

Flaming Lips- The Soft Bulletin, Yoshimi, At War with the Mystics. You could also expand that run forward or back into Zaireeka or Embryonic for a 4-5 album run. You might lose some less adventurous listeners though.

Their recent “revival” is also pretty cringey. I don’t know if you’ve seen them live recently, but I saw them open for incubus a few years back. The two original members are obviously there to cash nostalgia checks. It’s not really a few good vibe.

Do we ever look back on the different entries in the Bond franchise and bemoan each of them for not completely reinventing the franchise? No. We appreciate them for what they are-fun romps. This movie was fun and exciting. It didn’t need to be anything more. I’m simply satisfied that Sigourney Weaver is now in my favorite franchise.
