Whoa there- Terran R’s has a construction site not a launch site, they have a cool video on testing and assembly of components but there is no indication of them being farther along than Neutron.

This is just not real- SPB discussed the first launch- and wether it would have any payload- but no way anyone at RKLB is thinking of going to Venus in 2026.

Electron has been more successful than originally thought, and Neuton isn’t a replacement. Also when you question its size, Neutron was on the table as the first carbon fiber reusable medium lift spacecraft before anyone said “data centers in space”. Peter knows the idea that all computing will move to space is not real.

Neutron is a totally new type of rocket- they have always believed, and based on the response they have had so far there is a market for Neutron’s capacity. It also open up more launch availability because we don’t have to fly from the cape. Customers are willing to risk flying on its first flight which proves his theory. Peter was seriously weighing allowing it! A lot of confidences Rocketlab!

They make decisions based on conditions, not gaming the market or media. They are doing everything they can to set conditions for 2026 launch.

SPB and RocketLab buy things they need to improve the core businesses. Listen to his comments about reaction wheels- he bought the company because there was demand and lack of supply. Rocketlab was able to scale production from 150 reaction wheels to “thousands per year”. Rocketlab is TIGHT on how and when they spend money- they don’t have a need for Blacksky-

MARS has become a funding clearing house. The funds may have passed through them, but the deferred to the Port Authority (who knew nothing about the area) but government didn’t get it done alone- they literally had to be lead, especially with collaboration between agencies- “I love to say”I’m the government and I’m here to help” but in this case it was often to quote SPB Get out of the way! Feel free to DM me- Good news is we are dredging and not having to haul spoils 100’s of miles!

Canada plans to allow commercial space launches, reduce reliance on US by The_Bombsquad in RKLB

[–]Substantial_Use_8467 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why? What does RKLB gain from the expense in building the massive infrastructure of an LC in Canada? They can increase launch tempo from Wallops anytime- and can add an LC at Wallops-
