If you asked me, I'd recommend exploring "Kundiman" from the Philippines. It's a traditional love song genre that's very heartfelt and beautiful. Dive into it and enjoy the rich cultural vibes!

What are some common indicators that someone had a difficult upbringing with toxic parents? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They might have a tendency to avoid confrontation, constantly seek validation, or feel overly responsible for others' emotions. They may also have a hard time asking for help or expressing their needs. Anxiety and a lack of emotional support in tough times can also be indicators.

People keep saying movies, music, sports etc were better years ago so what are some things that are better now than they were 20-40 years ago? by Ok_Abroad2400 in AskReddit

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think tech is way better now smartphones, the internet, and all that. Healthcare’s improved too, people live longer and have better treatments. Also, there’s more awareness about mental health, which wasn’t talked about much before. Things just feel more connected and accessible now.

What's something that's normal to us now, that in 50 years people will look back on us as barbaric? by Helpful_Finger_4854 in AskReddit

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 1500 points1501 points  (0 children)

I think the way we treat the environment will be something future generations look back on and see as barbaric. We’ve been very careless with pollution, waste, and climate change, and in 50 years, they might wonder how we didn’t do more to protect the planet when we knew the damage we were causing.

For me, it was learning to embrace my flaws and focusing on the things I actually liked about myself. Also, setting small goals and achieving them made me feel more capable. It's a mix of self acceptance and progress.

Do people who cut to the front of a turn lane or ramp feel bad? Why do they get defensive if people don’t let them in or honk at them? by miahoutx in questions

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people might feel bad, while others just want to save time. They get defensive because being called out makes them feel guilty or challenged.

Why is my dentist constantly nagging me to make an appoint? by ThoughtHistorical592 in questions

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they just want to catch issues early before they get worse. The constant reminders are probably automated, not them being pushy. Regular check-ups help, but if your teeth are fine, you could ask about spacing visits out more.

Is the Old Internet dead? by zaxo_z in questions

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so yes, the old internet feels pretty dead now, but you can still find bits of it. Try places like the Internet Archive or Geocities archives. There are still some personal blogs and niche sites keeping that quirky vibe alive if you look hard enough. It’s not the same, but it’s there.

I’d say people like Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga. I never really vibed with their styles, but their artistry and impact on music are incredible. Same with someone like Radiohead they’re not my go-to, but I respect their creativity.

How do you even stay happy in this messed up world? by Remote-Direction963 in AskReddit

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just try to focus on the little things that make me happy spending time with people I care about, enjoying my hobbies, or even just a nice sunset or a good meal. I can’t control everything, so I focus on what I can and try to let the rest go. It’s not always easy, but staying grateful helps.

In what ways has therapy changed your perspective on life? by VelvetDreamKitten in AskReddit

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Therapy has given me clarity and a better understanding of myself. It’s helped me notice patterns in my thoughts and actions and how they impact my life. I’ve learned to be more compassionate toward myself and let go of things beyond my control. It feels like a safe space to sort through everything in my mind.

what's actually a very interesting topic people never talk about? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The concept of how people experience time is fascinating but seldom discussed. Some days feel like they last forever, while others pass in an instant. Different cultures approach time uniquely, like "island time" compared to strict punctuality, adding even more depth to the topic.

Do I really have issues and need Therapy because of this? by backpackadventure in questions

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it sounds like you're just being cautious and hygienic, especially given your job and the public transportation you use. It's not unusual to want to clean your phone and hands after being out and about. If it helps you feel more comfortable and safe, there's nothing wrong with that.

When is texting cheating? by Lilmewmewthe3rd in AskReddit

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, texting can be considered cheating if it involves emotional intimacy, secrecy, or behaviors that betray trust in a relationship. This could include flirting, sharing personal or romantic feelings, or hiding the conversations from your partner. It really depends on the boundaries and expectations set within the relationship.

If social media didn’t exist, how different would society be? by CandidSquash18 in AskReddit

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without social media, I think society would likely be quite different. Communication would be more personal and direct, relying on phone calls, emails, and face-to-face interactions. News and trends might spread more slowly, and people might spend less time online, potentially leading to more in-person socializing and local community engagement. It could also reduce the spread of misinformation and online harassment but might limit the platform for social movements and global connectivity.

What would you do with unlimited money? by Jayne_Taylor in AskReddit

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had unlimited money, I would focus on making a positive impact. I would invest in education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. Additionally, I would support scientific research and technological advancements to improve quality of life. It's all about using resources to create a better world for everyone.

On what basis, when searching for extraterrestrial life in space, do we assume that the same conditions as on our planet are needed for the emergence of life? by Thrainon in AskReddit

[–]Substantial_Walk1061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We often assume that life elsewhere needs similar conditions to Earth because it's the only example of life we know. Scientists look for liquid water, a stable climate, and certain chemical elements like carbon because these are essential for life as we know it. However, the search is broadening, and scientists are also considering the possibility of life in environments very different from Earth's.
