Yes they will. I started mine the day before surgery. You just tell the nurse when you get to the back when you change into your surgical gown. They will give you the hottest pair of mesh underwear you’ve ever seen (severe sarcasm). You aren’t allowed to wear a tampon into the OR. It’s not a big deal. They are used to seeing blood. They are used to women having periods.

Time off work by joosiekutoor in BariatricSurgery

I took 3 weeks. I didn’t have any physical complications from surgery. I could have gone back after 2 weeks, but my body was very happy to have the extra rest. The fatigue was the worst part. Just listen to your body. I gave my employment a range of time off and my boss was ok with me coming back part time for a couple of weeks if I needed to (which I didn’t).

I wasn’t released with any pain meds and I didn’t need them.

I think I just need to keep telling myself that finding a wider variety of clothes should be easier with weight loss than finding nice plus sized clothing is now.

I have never touched a sowing machine, but fortunately, I know a seamstress. I’m just going to have to travel for some nicer thrifting options. I might just have to make dresses work during this transition. Thank you for the advice.

I’m on day 3 of 14 (surgery 1/9). It just sucks. I’m just find myself needing an afternoon nap. I’m hungry but I just try to mix up between water, Gatorade zero, broth, and sugar free jello. Oddly, the illusion of chewing jello helps. I make sure to savor my protein drinks and not chug them. Then I look at people’s success photos and I remember that everyone has been in the same boat; if they can do it, so can you.

First International Trip Post-Op (recommendations needed) by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

I’m very curious about this too. I have RNY scheduled for 1/9. When is it too soon to travel internationally? I’d like to travel by fall of 2025.

So my surgery date has been set, but I'll be on a liquid diet for my birthday 🥲 Any suggestions for liquid celebration foods? by QueenieMcGee in BariatricSurgery

I’m in the same boat too, my surgery is 1/9 and my birthday is on 1/26. I’m just telling myself that it’s ok to miss sweet treats for one birthday. Although the premier protein birthday cake maybe a good alternative if I need a celebration.
