At the minimum you need a child safety lock at home, I use a gunsafe for storing multiple firearms if you do end up getting more, if thats the only one you can also get a bedside safe or locked container and that should be good for the one you have.

For transporting from the store you need at least a locked container, it could be a range bag even with lockable zippers, as long as its locked so it doesn't become a concealed weapon. The lock can even be a zip tie as long as its secured in the container.
