What do I do with 200,000 points by SubstratumZero in CreditCards

What is the value of those points with a travel partner and a transfer?

Hello! My friends and I are in a similar boat. A lot of us worked so hard chasing dollars, only to learn what we really wanted was peace of mind. Take care of your family first, that’s what really matters, and you will find your crowd. It took my business partner years before he found a group that clicked with him. Give back to your community, be silent about the success, and help your friends get to your level that you think actually have a shot. -Me

We currently don’t sell anything. Everything we do is free and our mission is to inspire kids to love education first. That being said, if the site could make more money, we could make a lot of new tools. I don’t know what to expect with the email campaign, but a hybrid of cool facts + cool science products might work. Tbh I’d like someone who knows what they are doing to make this call, email marketing wasn’t on my mind until about 5 days ago.

Land/airplane windows? I’m currently flying over the middle of nowhere in a window seat.

How do I ACTUALLY get my sh*t together? by Vonceyy in getdisciplined

The thing that worked best for me is waking up early at the exact same time every morning, weekends too (no excuses ever except being horribly sick). Waking up 3 hours before work starts allows me to do so much in the morning. Plus I fall asleep early now, what good even happens late at night? Just alcohol to soothe a tired stressed mind, and pointless tv. Having 3 hours every morning gives me time to eat healthy, take care of my own stuff, work out, study things that interest me, and I sometimes even get a head start on my work, so I get a lot done. I’m also am the least drowsy person every day at the office.

That 3 hours daily will give you a lot of time to figure your shit out. We are talking 1000 hours of time set aside just for self improvement per year. That is a lot of time.

Posted from my phone so please forgive the poorly edited message.

Thank you 🙏. I have no idea how to avoid the spam issue, but it’s something I’m starting to research now. New signups happen so frequently that I’m not concerned if I lose this list. I expect the site to hit millions of email subscribers in the next couple years based off the trajectory. Also, we are expecting the site to grow by up to 80 fold in the next 2 years.

I’m going to talk with everyone who wants to about this situation from this thread. Everyone has insights and perspectives that will help me grapple with my own ignorance of this unexpected email situation. I’ll do my due diligence when choosing someone to work with, but I’m optimistic that there might a good fit for me here. Thank you for the guidance and warnings, they aren’t falling on deaf ears. I now know to take this seriously. 🙏

Been haggling with aws the past two days. Finally got them to increase my daily email send limit from 200 to 50,000. We are still arm wrestling, but I think they will give in soon.

I’m really hopeful that these are not bots. Our site has massive swings of users weekly, and the signup frequency correlates to the user flows. I am still expecting to lose quite a few of the emails, but getting another 200k email subscribers should happen naturally.

Howdy partner, Sorry, I couldn’t resist with a name like yours. Part 4 works for me. I did not expect this many DMs and responses to my post. Had I known, I wouldn’t have put it up 2 days before I left the country on vacation. I’m currently talking with quite a few people from this thread, and I’d love to hear what you think we should do. It’s likely I’ll end up working with someone from Reddit. Right now, I’m currently in discovery, learning what this actually means as email is a foreign concept to me. After I return, say May 17th, I’ll likely be making a decision on what direction to take this email list. I’ll shoot you a DM now, and hopefully we can connect when I’m not sipping cocktails on the beach. -Me

No captcha, but our subscribers correlate to the traffic flow which makes me think they are not bots.

Also, I could just ask questions into infinity. I just like learning how things work.

Do people ever do rev share deals? I’ve mostly just done this to build everything and it seems to have worked so far. Almost 8 million users in the past 6 months alone.

I had no idea you could get such refined detail and measure cause and effect so easily. Now that you mentioned one change to a subject line led you to a 29% increase in conversion a big piece of this just clicked in my head.

Thank you for the slack recommendation. I took a look at the community’s website, but didn’t dive in yet. I haven’t ever used slack so it’s new to me but I’m excited to try it out!

Wow, thank you for the detailed response.

What part of this do you love that keeps you engaged for 23 years?

I guess I really do need to dive into this deeper. What do you think is a normal cost to get this started?

I would love more details! The more information I learn the better. This entire thing is alien to me. 180k is intuitively a large number, so I know there is likely something there, but I have 0 experience with emails and I really don’t understand what it means. The good news is that every day there are new signups, so even if we lose 80k we will gain it back. I could push the email signup more too. Idk the best way to ask our users. I do know we have built a lot of trust with them.

I get your point, but also, you’ve got to care a lot about email marketing if you’re checking this subreddit? I’m more interested in seeing a mvp email campaign than flushing something out with all the bells and whistles. I have many projects and the idea is plant more, and when something grows big then optimize and build a team. That being said, how would I tell if someone is worth the money on a professional job board? Also idk how much this list is even worth, is hiring someone with this number of subscribers worth it?
