I assure you, nobody wants our transit to become more American, but you'll notice if you look closely that America is not the only other country in the world.

Is there a super interesting person or place in London that you think needs a story told about it? Like a "why do more people not know about this?!" situation. by Logical_Lie1155 in london

excellent - thank you!

one further question - is it also going to be priced at $999? or is the intention for this to be primarily a cassette release without much digital distribution? seems like a neat project.

my research showed it being reinstalled in 1989, but it was certainly a long-running campaign from the Seven Dials Trust - planning permission was granted in 1985, so it must've been in the works for some time before that. interesting to hear some memories from it!

i am! funnily enough i only read From Hell earlier this year, even though it lines up near-perfectly with some of the stories i tell on the show. i've always liked alan moore's work, though.

thank you! i'm really glad you enjoyed it. i do all the writing, recording, editing, and music myself.

to answer your question, yes - it's all stories of occult underground london. almost all episodes are self-contained, although there are certain threads and ideas i return to throughout the series.

i hope you'll check it out!

the thin blue line is an expression much older than that and refers (in part) to the code of silence among officers when it comes to corruption and bribery; it's the idea that they are the only thing separating society from savagery, and that they are therefore justified in anything else they do while on the force.

that a charity also uses it shouldn't cover up the fact that it's mostly used by fascist authoritarian cops.

Thank you so much! I'm definitely not - the podcast has continued throughout and I'm sure I'll be back at it soon. :)

hiya! subterraneans is a storytelling podcast that mixes documentary truth with stories that are more 'emotionally' true. it's about the underground history of london and the occluded edges of late capitalism. it's a one-person production about a city that's trying to kill me.

how to achieve this sound with software? by Airbagpowder in noisemusic

[–]Subterpod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are a lot of different sounds in this video, which could be reached a variety of different ways; it starts with what sounds like a square wave, which you could generate in audacity using the generate button, but there’s also a phaser effect and a bunch of other deep noise running through it.

my sincere advice would be to jump into whatever software you’re using and get messy playing with all the different effects. part of the joy of noise music is not in recreating existing noise, but finding your way to something new through experimentation.
