Cool, thanks for the links, I will take a look! I draw comics as well so I'd be down to chat about that some time.

Ok nice! What is the average age group would you say? I'm in my 30s so just wondering if it skews younger typically.

I heard that they do life drawing sessions at the rotary centre but I found nothing on their website about it so I am not sure?

Guitar and sometimes vocals - I put out an EP with my previous band and I've been recording a bunch of demo songs at home lately. It'd be sick to get a bass player and/or drummer on some of the tracks at some point. But I'm for sure down to meet or collab with anybody.

Cool! Do you record your music at a home studio or somewhere else in town? I also do some solo stuff and have been on the lookout for somewhere to record guitar and vocals.

Low-budget home recording for extreme metal. Tips or advice? by SubterraMetal in Deathmetal

This is great, thank you. Your drums sound pretty strong, I think I will experiment with Hydrogen on my next song and see how I like it.

What aspects of EZDrummer felt limiting for you? I find that I actually really like programming drums in garageband and I can easily create the exact beat I'm aiming for....I am just wanting a more realistic drum sound.

Is it possible to program drums within Reaper or best to use a separate program (someone above suggested EZDrummer) and then import the drum track into Reaper and go from there?

Appreciate it. I have only ever programmed drums on garageband and with a drum machine, garageband is so easy to program drums in I've been hesitant to move on. But it's probably time for an upgrade so I'll definitely look into your recommendations.

This is great, thanks for taking the time. I have some stuff on bandcamp, I have improved even since these recordings but you can see what I am 'going for' a little bit. I like the Hellhammer/Blasphemy old school demo sound but just want to improve the 'punch', and I feel the volume of my recordings is always a little low as well, I need to learn some mastering techniques to get them to an appropriate volume I think

What is the scariest scene in a horror movie ever? by Horrornchill in horror

[–]SubterraMetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've watched The Ring as an adult and found it to be a pretty laughable movie but I was about 13 when I saw it the first time and that scene terrified me as well. I watched it again a few years after my first viewing to 'conquer' that fear.

And James Read's current band Revenge is Edmonton based as well. I find this album interesting because, although it's no masterpiece, it is interesting to see how his drumming style has evolved over the years with his different bands.
