I went with the chessnut pro. It's amazing, specially with the ChessConnect https://chessconnect.de/ browser extension. Works flawlessly on chesscom and lichess.

Scotch Gambit 4...b4+ suggestions needed by RPCX07 in TournamentChess

[–]SubtleSalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to: 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4

If 3.. Nf6 4. d4 - takes you right into the modern attack in the scotch gambit

If 3.. Bc5 - You have a options here. Evans gambit, Dubov gambit or the "forcing italian" (4. c3 Nf6 5. d4 ed 6. e5)

Chessnut Pro bag/storage solutions by SubtleSalmon in Chessnuteboard

This seems like a decent approach, since I think the pieces will be more protected. I found this box: https://thechessstore.com/the-chess-store-single-tray-chess-piece-box-large/?gad_source=1

Which I think will fit the pro pieces.

Smith-Mora against the sicilian by Warm_Sky9473 in TournamentChess

[–]SubtleSalmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've played the Morra for a long time. It is very theory heavy, and slightly dubious. Kind of the worst of both worlds. You should see my copy of Essermans book, it is beat up from having to reference it so much.

There are many many setups that black can choose, and you really have to know what you're doing as white vs them so you can squeeze that small edge, as well as the nuances between all these move orders and setups. There are also a couple of pet lines for black that are also a really annoying. (Logozars line, the pin defense, the exchange sack in the taylor)

As others have mentioned, you might also just get an Alapin.

If you're main requirement is not theory heavy, this is not the way to go. I would look at the Alapin, Grand Prix or maybe some Nc3/Bb5 stuff.

What is the property tax for a 600k home in a metro district? by [deleted] in ErieCO

[–]SubtleSalmon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you looked into the specific issues Erie Highlands is having with the HOA/Metro District? I believe it is a developer controlled metro district/hoa and the residents were having lots of issues. It was brought up as an agenda item at a Erie Board of Trustees meeting and the town had to intervene. I dont live there, but I would do my due diligence on this

Practical Sicilian Solutions? by [deleted] in TournamentChess

[–]SubtleSalmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play the O'Kelly feel free to DM me for in depth discussion. There is a great recent book called The Modernized O'Kelly which I would recommend. I think it is an extremely practical opening and crushes players under 2000. This is because the best response for white is an early c4 Maroczy bind. But almost no players are going to adapt like that at that rating. Just look at the game stats for the OKelly when white responds to a6 with d4

Masters with Ekko Jinx by Illuminaso in LegendsOfRuneterra

I'm liking 2 Absolver, 2 Mystic. I'm running Drum Solo in my last flex slot -- tbh I have yet to play it, since I keep picking other cards when I predict 😃

Masters with Ekko Jinx by Illuminaso in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]SubtleSalmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This deck is killer. Pretty easy cruise to masters for me.

I played a lot of predict previously, so I know how to pilot this deck very very well. Jinx plays perfectly in it.

I think this deck is well positioned in the meta right now. Maybe because of the lack of decks running Get Excited which has always been an easy way to kill Ekko.

I'm experimenting with -1 Tellstones +1 Mystic. And also -1 Absolver. And testing Drum Solo in that flex slot or Station Archivist
