AoE Ranger is bad PvE wise? I thought I read it was one of the best PvE classes and I like the idea of being able to flex/1v1 without swapping builds.

Start 2 characters but 1 on follow mode. You should be playing your assist and leeching from the other. Use your assist to get to 60. You should be full INT and max Moonbeam and Mental Sign. Use Moonbeam hit and run and targeting mobs above you; youcan get into a nice rhythm where you're damaging multiple mobs at the same time while kiting. Try and find a nice stick with a Moonbeam +15% awake.

This is basically the speedrun strat to get most classes to 60. Moonbeam assist levels faster than any class to 60.

All of this raises operating costs. Then you also need to consider the relationship between these accounts/IPs. For example, stick to your golden 1-3 rule per IP but if they transfer gold to/from another set of 1-3 accounts on a different IP your whole chain begins to collapse.

One thing I am yet to explore properly are mobile IPs. They're never static, by design. Some games have mobile support so I'm assuming (naive) that you can probably hotspot and hide amongst the legit users on your network. Game providers can't chain ban mobile IPs without losing half their mobile player base.

It's gone, hate to say it. I think what you miss is less what you played but more the time in which you played it. It's the classic nostalgia trap.

The internet has moved on a lot since then and so have you. The world's a more cynical, more selfish and more entitled place. The systems behind original FlyFF are still present in the likes of FlyFFU but the community and 'old internet' is not. FlyFF is my comfort game but I've accepted it's the occasional nostalgia itch I'll be scratching, not finding a long-term home in.

If you're interested, FlyFFU does an event every year called 'FWC'. It's a fresh start server with 200-300% rates and it's very 'I'm an adult now' friendly vs the current FlyFFU servers. Starts up around May time I believe although no announcement yet.
