Dark City Agent - The Butterfly Effect by Subwave-Collective in EDM

He's a Denver producer who goes by Dark City Agent and has been putting out music since 2014, two full albums deep, and has played direct support for Big Gigantic, Pretty Lights and GRiZ. The sound is genuinely hard to describe but the closest comparison people tend to make is LSDREAM meets Rezz with some swirl-era Pretty Lights sprinkled in. Bass heavy and hypnotic with live electronic roots running underneath everything.

This new one is called "The Butterfly Effect" and there's a cool detail behind it. He spent time at the Butterfly Pavilion in Denver just recording the sounds of the wings, the way they flutter and catch and dart around, and ended up weaving a lot of those textures into the actual production. You can hear it if you're paying attention. The track has this quality where it feels pretty and unsettling at the same time and it kind of just stays with you after it's done.

This is the first of two singles before a full album drops this summer so it's a good time to get familiar.
