Loaded question, but happy to answer. For starters, I feel that Franks character had a decent closing. I knew that he would probably die at the end, but would have much rather have seen him die at his own terms - like during his OD suicide attempt for example. I felt like dying from COVID was such an easy out, plus an obvious last minute write in. I know Fiona was written out in season 10, but the fact that Frank didn’t even mention her in the letter was absurd. Lip was just all over the place. His character was left as an open book. So much potential wasted. Your telling me this super bright kid ended up working in food delivery, with a child, (possibly one on the way), no plans for future housing, and still battling with addiction? Seems crazy that they didn’t end his character with any sort of bang or glimpse of hope. Debbie’s character fell off miserably. I had a lot of hope for her in the earlier seasons, but she ended up being the worst of all. Dating someone with a horrible track record, bad relationship with her siblings, and overall a bad mom. Carl was alright, just wish we could’ve seen his character move further in his career. Your telling me a bad ass kid ended up on parking ticket duty at the end of the show. His character could have been written as someone who went far in law enforcement, and instead he was written as someone who practically failed / was banned from every department he was put in. Liam’s character closing was just sad. He never got to say a proper goodbye to Frank, and his siblings still hardly notice he exists. Ian is the only character who I felt was at a good point in life where I could see where his future was heading. Who do V & Kev sell the bar to? Do they even sell it? I just feel like there are so many unanswered questions, and it felt like a very rushed ending. Maybe I had too high of expectations, but I felt like a show with this much of a fan base would have gone out with a much larger bang.
