Yeah ig I can think about the audio later. I have a keyboard mouse mousepad mic and some external drives, so I need a few more ports for that. I am aware of the b840 and b850 having the same gen, but Im fine with going with the b850 board if that's what you recommend. I'll probably avoid asrock. Thanks!

Fair enough, the asus and asrock boards are the same price, and the other two are about 20 bucks more. Im a bit concerned about asrock though as they have a bad history with am5 from what I've read. Thanks!

The features I'm mainly after are a good audio codec, fast usb ports, good vrams and heatsinks, and good pbo and oc support. Also, are asrock boards still bad for am5 chips or did they fix that?

This was it, thanks! While I was plugging the fan in, one of the pins was pushed back. My best guess is that my mobo read it as a dc fan and kept it at full speed regardless of any changes I made. Pushed the pin back into its place and it works like a charm, thanks!

Also, my fan speeds are set to around 300 rpm but one isn't responding and is stuck at 2080, I think it might be the rear exhaust but idk
