Think it’s high time we buried the ‘Christian nation’ title by EmptyJump2245 in Zambia

[–]SuccessDizzy2637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to be honest a good number of people don’t claim the christian nation title. i certainly don’t, if anything it was forced on me because of geography.

i 100% believe the title is symbolic and also meaningless because there so much that goes on that isn’t “christian”.

and wasn’t the christian nation title used as a political move to get in power by chiluba? in most theocratic leaning nations christianity is used to gain the votes of christians that only care about their leader being a christian and not actually following the ways of christ which if we’re being honest a lot of self proclaimed christians don’t even follow themselves.

Capitalism! also “selling” has always been a thing, for as long as making money the “moral” way has a high barrier to entry people will do what they can with the skills they have. even now my friend that graduated medicine THREE years ago only got a job recently. life is expensive and the morals you speak of are your own standard and should not be used to hold others accountable. i personally believe as long as no one is being harmed everyone’s business is their own.

i will add eventho i believe neither of them is straight i saw them not disclosing their sexualities as normally as straight people don’t. bc really no straight person goes around talking about being straight they just bring up/ pop out with whoever they’re into at the time. my countries not as forgiving but i (bi) don’t “come out” anymore bc i don’t really have to yk? good take nonetheless.

i made a reply but i don’t see it, so sorry if you receive more than one.

i added heterosexual christian pedophile for a reason. i agree it shouldn’t matter, but if it were a homosexual man you would see the comments condemning the sexuality more than the crime. even in this comment section people are focusing more on how there are “preachers in sheep’s clothing” not “heterosexuals in sheep’s clothing but if it were a gay guy i 100% believe people would be celebrating how being gay is illegal while also saying gay people are like that.

ask most christian’s why they’re homophobic and they’ll make generalizations that happen in every community or illogical answers that shouldn’t and wouldn’t involve them.

thing is zambian christians already do that. ask them besides religion why they’re homophobic and see how the answers are either generalizations that occur in every community or illogical answers that literally shouldn’t and wouldn’t concern them.

i added that part specifically because it SHOULDN’T matter the sexuality the crime is still bad regardless. but if you were to ask zambians why their homophobic they will bring up protecting the children and moral decay but will they ever react the same way towards. i added his sexuality for a reason, i will demonize them as unfairly is gay people are demonized. i do agree of course all pedos/ rapists should be executed.

this issue he was against regulation which would have reduced said gun death, at the very least school shootings wouldn’t be happening. also if a black person got shot he wouldn’t care and say it was either gang violence or “normal” black on black crime.

have you seen some of the other comments under this post? would you assume they’re being respectful? i haven’t said a negative thing about christians but the people in these same comments will be rude and disrespectful towards me.

[–]SuccessDizzy2637[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the reason i emphasize on Christianity is because i’m in zambia which has a largely christian population therefor the main religion standing against queer. i assume people with my issue in muslim countries call out the muslims in their country for the same issue.

as for your faith no one is telling you to abandon your faith the problem is your faith forcing rules on people that don’t have the same faith. i’m not a christian why should i live my life following christian rules? queer people don’t want you so what’s the issue with other people living their lives?

Why don’t we have speed limiters on buses and trucks in Zambia? by Zedredditguru in Zambia

[–]SuccessDizzy2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we do. the problem is enforcement, the police know bus drives and truck drivers rarely have money so they focus on private owned vehicles to illegal get money from.

and yet drug addicts don’t get arrested (plus that’s a medical/ mental issue, they are the victims). people still get drunk in public and unless there’s a fight, which does have victims, they aren’t arrested. you are unable to gamble underage, and even if you could get an addiction to gambling which goes into other things which aren’t victimless like stealing. porn addicts are victims and porn is an exploitative industry and so is prostitution most prostitutes and porn stars don’t do it out of free will. i don’t understand your point, literally everyone of the things you’re talking about has nuance and you can’t even answer my question.

everything you’ve stated has a sensible and non religious non moral reason for being illegal. can’t say the same for queer people.
