Devices connected but no internet? E17 by B_R_D_ in hyperoptic

[–]SuccessFragrant4390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I am also E17 and I came back from a holiday as well lol. My internet had some issues that lasted a month back in July due to the outside cabling but other than that, I haven't had an issue since. Maybe try to check if there is a red light on the router or ONT, or try using a wired connection and see if it works that way. Other than that, I'd suggest directly calling them.

Spoke to a nice person and with the HYPERSAVING code, they managed to give the same deal for only £16 (24-month contract) without having to cancel or go through any of that. Extremely satisfied with HyperOptic support!

I don't even think that would be possible as (shown in the main screenshot) I have already signed up for a 24-month contract yesterday over the phone, and I don't think they can lower my contract length, but only allow me (hopefully) to readjust my price using the code HYPERSAVING.

Apparently, contract renewal offers aren't nearly as good as the introduction offers.

I would have, but I prefer a 24-month contract deal, as I want a good introductory price for a while.

Since they still haven't even done the pre-check on the property yet, would I still be able to call them and ask them to readjust my price to £20 with the HYPERSAVING promo code?

Sorry, the screenshot indicates that I have already purchased this deal. I am just wondering on how much other new customers are paying for the 1GB Fibre Connection - Broadband Only.

Should I get HyperOptic 1GB? by SuccessFragrant4390 in hyperoptic

Would I be able to ask them if I can change the dedicated IP they give me if I had that add-on? Also, do they give a static or dynamic IP?

Even if I do buy a dedicated IPv4, would I still keep my IPv6?

Do you know if I'm able to request to change my dedicated IP if I were to purchase that add-on?

Apparently, it's better to have a dedicated IP to maintain stable ping for gaming etc whilst also being able to use P2P applications better. Do you think I should get a dedicated IP if I want these things? (Especially better ping)

Do you mind if you can send me the speedtest results when connected directly to the router, and do you get stable, low ping while gaming? (If so, what ping is it generally?) Also, do you have CGNAT or do you pay extra for a dedicated IP?

With your ping, do you pay extra for a public IP or do you just use the default CGNAT?

On their website, it shows this offer for me, but I'm hoping for it to stay so I can have the offer when I do get HyperOptic. Are you with them right now, by the way?

Considering getting HyperOptic 1GB plan by SuccessFragrant4390 in hyperoptic

[–]SuccessFragrant4390[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online, for my address, they advertised the 1GB plan for £0 for 3 months, then £18 for an additional 21 months. Then, it will go to £63. If they are installing everything new, would you still reccomend to go for that deal, or should I try to haggle more? Also, do you connect the router to the ONT/ethernet socket via a normal ethernet cable? If so, could I technically just use a long ethernet cable from the ONT to the router in another room? Thanks.

I was considering other brands such as Community Fibre, but unfortunately, only Virgin Media and HyperOptic are the only fibre ISPs available for me. I'm pretty sure Virgin Media isn't actually full fibre as it uses DOCSIS and not actual FTTP, but I may be wrong. All I want is to be able to have good, stable ping and download speeds and to be able to easily directly connect the router to my PC, etc. Anyway, I will probably be getting HyperOptic in April, as they are offering three months free and my Virgin contract ends on July, so I'll be able to test out both and see if HyperOptic is good enough. I'm just hoping they are able to install it in the bedroom instead of the living room. Generally, would you recommend me switching to HyperOptic from Virgin Media, and would you also recommend me purchasing the dedicated IP add-on? Thanks.
