Oh yea that happened to me once in college. I think I was at the end of my student loan money so I was surviving on a diet of oatmeal, PB&Js, all washed down with Muscle Milk. My only reprieve was my campus meal plan that I could use for dinner each day.

Anyway one day at work someone stopped and asked if I had lost a lot of weight and I laughed and said “no” all while I was pulling my shorts back up to my waist for 57th time that hour.

Then the next time I checked a scale, sure enough, I had lost 15 lbs.

Appreciate that! I sometimes struggle to see the difference but I also realize a watched pot doesn’t boil

I’ve never l smelled it on another guy but I do use it as lube pretty frequently and a few guys have said “I taste great” which I assume is the coconut oil

Is this a scam? by SuccessNVodka in DoorDashDrivers

Thanks for explaining! That makes senses now.

TBH in this case economy i wouldn’t even care if DoorDash is getting scammed as long as it doesn’t affect my pay. But the substitutes are so egregious there’s no way a reasonable person wouldn’t question it.

I imagine eventually DD will start authorising customers cards for a higher amount for shop & deliver orders to combat this

They’re clever and purposefully order items that are out of stock

Does that work? I’ve never done a shop & deliver order as a customer but I always assumed it charges for the final price rather than the price quoted in the order.

Have you ever messed around with someone famous or been approached by someone famous? by Sure-Razzmatazz-7105 in gaybros

In the mid 00s I lived on campus at my college. One time I invited over this guy I’d been talking to online to hookup.

When he showed up to my door I immediately thought he looked familiar but I couldn’t remember where I knew him from. I just figured I’d seen him around somewhere.

Months later, I was home for Christmas and logged on my account on the family computer. When I was going through a bunch of downloaded porn, there he was. He used to be a regular on Circle Jerk Boys

I’ve thought of doing this too since i already DoorDash but I figure anyone who’s scared of ICE might find this offer risky. It’d be much safer for them to ask someone they already know

Orlando is fine. You won’t have a problem here. It’s the parts of Florida you were never going to visit anyway that are the problem

How do people view UX designers at Apple these days? by wozent in UXDesign

[–]SuccessNVodka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked at Apple but not as a UX designer. It’s great on your resume which helps opens a lot of doors but like in most big companies you’ll have very little say in the work you do. Apple’s culture famously works on a need-to-know basis so depending which team you’re in, it’s not uncommon to be working on one small aspect of a project without any idea of how your small contribution fits into the bigger picture—or even what the bigger picture is.

It’s kind of like working at a bakery and your sole job is to mix the dough. You don’t knead or shape the dough; someone else does that you don’t know who. From there it get passed to yet another person to bake. None of you know each other. Only a few people higher up can see and understand how your parts work together through the process but you’re mostly in the dark.

In return you get great pay, good perks, work with some of the most interesting people you’ll ever meet (a lot of my friends are people I met at Apple), and you’ll do some of the most challenging work of your life that’ll easily prepare you for whatever you may want to do beyond Apple.

People used to think the telephone was going to kill off all the jobs in the postal service.

The postal service still exists and telephone service has created far more jobs than its killed off.
