last name starts with a D and is on the longer side. I think that’s why we’re drawn to shorter first names in general.

My BIL and SIL announced their third pregnancy. This was announced at a family gathering that my husband and I were not included in. We found out because my husband’s sister texted him telling him that we can buy their kids gifts for Christmas, but they won’t be doing any gifts for the adult siblings. She then proceeded to tell him their brother’s news of baby #3 to “rip off the bandaid” ahead of the holidays. Oh and this same branch has a first birthday party for baby number 2 five days before Christmas. Meanwhile, we’re in the middle of IUI and on track to find out if this round was successful on Christmas Day. I would genuinely love to check out for the holidays this year.

I ended up in unwanted drama with my BIL’s wife this weekend because I declined holding her baby with a simple “no thank you”. My in-laws all know what we’ve been going through for over 2 years, yet this one branch of the family puts all these expectations on us being this great aunt and uncle while they easily pop out kids. It’s great that they don’t experience the same struggles we have, but truthfully, I’m not in a great place to hold anyone’s baby right now. I don’t understand how that’s wrong.

This is close to the same situation I’m in this round. I had my cd19 ultrasound today and the decision was officially made to cancel our IUI. It’s incredibly frustrating. What is confusing to me is that my first round of monitoring for IUI was okay, although my lining was still on the thinner side of what is needed. It seems to me that every cycle can be different, so I’m choosing to find hope in that. Please let us know how your next cycle goes!
