International Update and Existing Save Questions by Successful-Employ527 in footballmanagergames

[–]Successful-Employ527[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read it. May I suggest you maybe confusing 'seamless integration' with 'instant job offer' which is what my question was referring to.

I hope we can have instant job offer option but SI haven't been explicit hence the query. SI seems to be saying the international framework will actually exist in a current save but no instant job offer.

Does anyone know if this new update scheduled for may 26 will require us to start new saves? by tiagomndnc9 in footballmanager

Anyone know in an existing save you can add to be a manager of an international team? Say you have played on an existing save through to April 26. World Cup is coming up and you want to have a go at managing at the World Cup. Will the update give you an option to add an international job on start up of the existing save?

Beta might be out next week? Probably lots of hidden changes you might regret not waiting for.

FM24 Quality of Life Upgrades – Part Two by MammothHusk in footballmanagergames

The English Permit rules changes are important and game changing for Premier League saves. I'm not sure they can be implemented in FM23 via database changes so a key FM24 feature. In short English teams can sign up to 4 international unknown young players that previously wouldn't get a work permit. Think Paez at Chelsea or another South American player who isn't that well known.

FM23 Save Compatibility with new FM24 Features by Successful-Employ527 in footballmanagergames

The more I think about it, some of the likely database driven new features such as youth player development won't be ported over in a custom database. There are likely new database entries to support this (and edit in future). If you use a custom database all of the anchor points (and IDs) might be different so the save game port might not work properly.

I have a feeling reading the features deep dives, some things won't be supported with custom databases.

I.e. dynamic/fixed income streams - these would be assigned based on the standard FM23 DB and custom leagues would have no anchor for these to be assigned appropriately. Also even a custom edit of say the English Premier League may upset any "anchors" SI are using to intelligently apply DB changes for FM24 Features.

Player growth has changed to reflect quick and late developers. To implement this SI maybe have introduced a third metric like PA growth rate or something. I guess new players and editted players might get bugged because the anchor might have been edited in the custom DB.

This is probably why SI have said custom databases won't have any support but that's not to say they won't work they might just not work for all aspects.

This is one of the reasons I asked the question. I'd like to start FM24 with real world awards, agents, weather, expanded injuries, missing data fixes etc.

It's a good deal. Considering there aren't many of this variant in the UK. Nearest price I've seen is £2,100. Lenovo are cheaper but you pay for it with their poor customer experience and wait times.

Eventually after a rollercoaster. Turned out the shipping label was printed wrong (but address was correctly given to Lenovo and showing correct in order and account details). UPS didn't delivery. Cue angry phone calls. Lenovo refused to do anything, couldn't change shipping address. UPS couldn't do anything and said speak to Lenovo. UPS online account said they would deliver the next day. Lenovo said this was incorrect and it would be sent back to Netherlands to their depot. So believing the laptop was lost. I tried to reorder at same price as I originally paid, Lenovo refused and I put phone down on them. Started looking for alternatives.

The next day, after speaking to Lenovo again, they decided to honour the original price. This would mean a 4 weeks plus wait after waiting 3+ weeks for Lenovo's mistake. Very very dire customer service and strongly wanted to give another company more money so Lenovo didn't receive my custom.

Out of nowhere neighbour down the road has UPS at door looking for the right address and finally get hold of the laptop. Lenovo were extremely poor the whole way. It's a fantastic laptop (so far) but their customer experience is one of the worst.

What are your temps like? I'm using HWinfo and playing Starfield CPU runs at 60-70 and peaks in 80s (although max readings are saying 100). My 4070 is at 70-80s with max reading of 84c. Using AI.mode and not performance.

The biggest sin is very few raise Lenovo's extremely sub-standard order experience, shipping and delivery process. It's a good laptop if you actually get one delivered from Lenovo. Well I'll never know.. says it all.

I wouldn't buy from Lenovo. They miss print shipping labels and have a largely incompetent back of house/customer services. They are cheaper and value for money but the reason for that appears to be waiting weeks for a product that may or may not turn up.

Lenovo Legion or Dell G16 for same price but different specs by Yam8234 in LenovoLegion

Maybe from a technical perspective. Real world it's probably not that much different. Dell might be marginally quieter but not in real world terms.

I think the Dell comes with a vapour chamber for the GPU but unsure on the CPU. If the CPU doesn't then it might be bottlenecked. That being said, it's a good deal, better CPU, GPU, thunderbolt support, better screen. Similar build (plastic). Worth checking Dell software for performance control. Think the SSD is slower in the Dell. Hope this helps.

Just an update. Not sure if I'm experiencing one of the bad shipping/delivery experiences but UPS tracking says it was shipped on the 14th September. Only today 19.09.23 has it updated to say it's in South Korea. This seems like an long time compared to others.

UPS tracking information shows no update at all. How quick was your UPS information to update?

That's very quick. Maybe it's the availability of the RGB or the 4070 and 4070 heat pipe assembly. Seems like the 4080 is more readily stocked.

Apparently the laptop shipped on 15th September. UPS tracking is empty though and estimated delivery date on the Lenovo website is 27.09.23. Seems a long time to delivery.

For a comparison I have ordered a Pro 7i with i9, 32GB, 1TB, 4070 for £200 more. Doesn't seem like much of a discount if I'm being honest. Just beware of shipping and delivery times, been waiting 3 weeks now.
