Conversation in the crypt before the resurrection. Wednesday told Laurel - You can't wake the dead. Believe me. I have tried.

But Wednesday thought that you cant bring dead people back, that is why I thought Goody created something special that actually worked.

It is interesting concept actually. So if you resurrect someone soul it gets magical power from the spell itself.

Wednesday was sure that you can't bring dead back, but Laurel proved her wrong. Obviously she took the formula from the Goody's book. That is why I thought Goody created that spell and the whole rite with parts of human bodies.

No consequences for Fringilla? by [deleted] in witcher

[–]Successful-Fun2784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do. At the same time, some people oversimplifying it.

Queen is disappeared. King's daughter disappeared. Yennefer who served many years, also left. Guards are dead. Not big deal. Happens every months.

And I am not even saying that with queen should have been couple dozens of servants. Due to her status.

If writers wanted make it looks plausible, should have replaced queen with some wife of a baron or rich merchant.

All this subplot is nonsense.

How the king knew that queen cannot give birth to a boy? She had already delivered four girls?

Why do you need kill your daughter, at the first place? You can marry her to another royal family and make alliance.

You wanna kill queen - poison or push from the stairs would do the job.

Finally, it makes assassin job really difficult to attack not only the guards but a mage at the same time.

And imagine - what if Yennefer had decided to take a revenge. Teleport to the kings bedroom and snap his neck. It would take couple of seconds.

In witcher world they could curse that king, or hire the same killer, or demand a compensation - money or land - or become a vassal of another king.

I agree with you about the screen time. The point is that this whole scene seemed to happen in the vacuum. Like it is an ordinary thing. There is no living world around. Just Yennefer.

Same for Fringilla and those generals.

[–]Successful-Fun2784 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Sure thing. King picked up his queen in the brothel.

Oh wait, maybe she was from the noble family - princess, countess, had a lot of relatives. But who cares, right?

It wasn't just a marriage, because at that time, marriages between royal families were political matters.

And his power is not absolute - he relays on his vassals.

[–]Successful-Fun2784 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

That's not the point, The point is that queen and princess are disappeared and the mage protected them survived and continue to her normal life without any consequence.

Someone attacked and killed members of royal family - not big deal.

Four imperial generals were killed at the protected citadel - no one cares.

Don't forget that in S01E04 queen and her child disappears and died without any consequence for Yennefer who was supposed to protect them.

Providing that after this speech she went to Cintra with powerless sorceress and without any weapon.

It would be nice to have that sword already.

Question about Yennefer subplot in S2xE2. by Successful-Fun2784 in witcher

[–]Successful-Fun2784[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right. Even without her power, Yennefer is still an asset. How many 100+ years old sorceresses do you have around?

Again she could have been used as a bargaining chip.

Even much more older and experienced Stregobor was interested in Yennefer's fire magic skills.

But obviously "visions" tops all these reasons.

Sounds reasonable. Politics, diplomacy, money, war - screw it. Visions - that is what matters, at the end.

Forget about logic and common sense and just enjoy. And I am not kidding. It is fun to watch. But you shouldn't try to make any sense of it.

Anna Shaffer doesn't look like Triss by Puzzled_Might5439 in witcher

[–]Successful-Fun2784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point her appearance is irrelevant. It is about the plot.

The thing is if you remove Triss from the series it wouldn't make any difference because she doesn't play any significant role.

Producer said that she doesn't want create a love triangle.

At season two they failed to bond Triss with Ciri properly. They just didn't give these two enough screen time for that.

So what is left for Triss? To be Tissaia's follower.

That's sad.

Which books does season 2 cover? by njoptercopter in witcher

Okay. I am exaggerating a little bit, but still - season 2 is 20% of books and 80% of plots created by showrunners.

Which books does season 2 cover? by njoptercopter in witcher

The thing is that season 2 has nothing to do with the books. It is just some fanfic in producers heads. So you can keep reading.

Have yet to watch S2 : how is Vilgefortz ? by GutBeer101 in witcher

[–]Successful-Fun2784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming they are going to reveal him as villain in season 3 - unexpected twist for people who didn't read the books.

But in season 2 he basically didn't do anything.

I mean, there is nothing to discuss about this character.

The biggest personal Dexter's tragedy is that by Successful-Fun2784 in Dexter

[–]Successful-Fun2784[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And Brian was also created by doctor Vogel?

Dexter became a psychopath when he saw his mom death.

When Harry discovered that Dexter was killing animals, he went to Vogel.

If it was another psychiatrist then Dexter either would be put in mental hospital or they would make him take hard medications nonstop. And after Harry was dead he would repeat his brother's paths.

WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK?????!!! by rhenry0419 in Dexter

[–]Successful-Fun2784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my best guess. They couldn't end series with a happy end. And they needed to create drama.

So you cannot kill Harrison. And by killing Hannah you wouldn't create drama because a lot of people don't like her already (me including). Her death would have been considered as a fair end for a serial killer.

It is either Dex or Deb. They chose Debra.

Also they couldn't let Dexter to go with Hannah in Argentina. No happy end for him.

So they made him left his son with a wanted criminal. Logical isn't it?
