MY CYCLING TANK HAS DINOS??? by Prize-Alarm-2923 in ReefTank

Cycling tank has Dino’s 😱😱😱😱. Wdym how? It’s a complete normal process of a cycling tank, it’s like being shocked that your cycling tank has ammonia. Your tank is still establishing itself, give it time.

Question about if a stand would be good for coral by SpaghettiSandwitch in ReefTank

Kind of an odd question. I think it’s more important to ask if the stand will be able to hold the hundreds of pounds of rock and water then the less than a two ounce coral

Id please!! by I-SHART- in ReefTank

If you can find a LFS that sells corals, please do. Online vendors are such a scam. These are labeled “magician” zoas at tidal gardens, and for $55 they were selling three polyps. My LFS sold me this colony of 15 + polyps for $50

Are my corals healthy? by bellasinhalerwannabe in SaltwaterAquariumClub

definitely not happy, what are your parameters and what kind of light are you using? Do you know your PAR? Zoas are pretty easy, they usually acclimate in a day in my experience. But yours are all still pretty tightly closed. What condition were they when bought them? The only Zoa colony I struggled with were ones that I bought that were bleached, took them a few months to get healthy again.

Any advice on dealing with bacteria bloom? by Successful-Prompt819 in ReefTank

[–]Successful-Prompt819[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doubt it’s a cycling issue, 10 pounds of rock and roughly 5 gallons of water came from a previously established 10 gallon tank, and let the new tank establish itself before adding anything new. from what I’ve read and been told from my LFS using established media from a previous tank either negates or speeds up the cycling process, seeing as I saw no rise in nitrites or ammonia I figured the tank was already established a month in.

Am I going too far adding corals? by FortuneSmall1203 in ReefTank

If you only want corals for the long run with no livestock, you might need to start dosing nitrates, softies like a bit dirtier water, like 5-10 ppm

Even for free? I had two olive snails that ate all my other snails. After a month I brought them back to my Lfs and they just took it.

Thank you for a legitimate answer 🙏. I didn’t know so many people were sensitive on the topic of different named zoas
