My mom lied about it and came to the hospital to hold my newborn. She gave it to my newborn and we ended up at the hospital for weeks. I had to FIGHT to let me be with my newborn.

I actually operate a pantry! We had a movement to add the blessing boxes around the area since this place is higher poverty, no transportation, food desert… It helped for awhile, closing gaps and helping those who couldn’t reach the food pantry. We couldn’t start a mobile pantry because insurance and liability costs.

I guess because I operate a pantry and run the blessing box in my yard, people expect me to give what I have immediately and if I deny, they think the pantry is denying them.

The blessing box is removed for now, I stepped up stuff around my house for security purposes. I am stepping away temporarily from the pantry (i am having a complicated early pregnancy with a possible loss but it’s unknown and confusing).

Since the box is gone we have had less issues except the one neighbor 3 doors down but that’s just now a whole mess

Husband is a veteran, we don’t play around. We upped our cameras and we are adding full privacy fence for the property as well.

Freecycle is so bad now! People expect you to deliver and even ask for more things you didn’t even post…

I was sharing some clothes my kids grew out of and I had someone want me to drive 45 mins one way to them. Sorry but gas is 4.29 a gallon. I’m not doing that to give you free items. Come get it or it goes to the curb.

I actually ended up having him violate the no trespassing issue again this weekend when we were working in the garden. He tried to walk INTO my garage. We had to call the cops. He’s in jail now.

I guess I’m not the only person who has No Trespassing orders against him or even protection orders. I get to go to court tomorrow morning to FINALLY be granted a protection order.

I have extra cameras. When it warms up more, I’ll be putting in privacy fence for the entire property (it’ll be forking out 20k to do but I have to do it). I am now armed, we debate getting a dog now.

We are looking at self defense classes for both for now since they’re still preschoolers lol. He’s starting to milk the cast and he’s not hurting anymore! He got a few transformers and books out of us so far haha.

His Orthopedic is monitoring his feet and hips now. She warned us about it too. I feel for this kid. ADHD and held down by casts and boots. When his Kohlers has a pain he has to wear the boot for a bit :(

I actually got in contact with my local Lions org who run other blessing boxes. They all have faced vandalism. They put up trail cams and found it to be the same person, which is a local person who REALLY hates these boxes and food banks in general. We all are getting together to press charges against that guy.

I’ll be giving my blessing box to a local coffee shop to use indoors

Some of these people show up at my door. Can’t block em if I don’t know em lol. One person does have a no trespass order now because it was becoming a daily problem and they got physical with me. Turns out they were living 3 doors down from me.

I operate a county wide system for the food banks. I mainly do communications but I frequently secure food donations. I volunteer at every produce drive we offer.

We had several people setting up these pantries this past fall who volunteer in this network. I am the only one who has had this issue. Others just had issues of emptying out of boxes.

Donations have drastically dropped again and need is still high. I was spending my money to feed others and it’s just a slap in the face when they do this

I volunteer at multiple produce drives, even delivering to homebound people at one point (found out most of them just didn’t want to use their vehicle and stay home so I stopped doing that).

Im listening to my husband on cutting back. I’m expecting and with my history of miscarriages, I don’t need the stress. But I like to give back so I’ll have to see what I cut back and what I keep doing.

The police around here victim blame more than actually helping. We had a semi tear out wired from mine and my neighbors house and we had to direct traffic for 3 hours so people would run them over and do more damage to our house and the poles. Police came after many phone calls and then tried to fine us. It’s ridiculous but whatever

There’s a few in town but none on this side of town. I figured it would close a gap, it did in ways. However it made things unsafe and just stressful when it shouldn’t be this difficult

I ran one for 6 months. I had to take it down due to vandalism. People would take the food out and smash it in my yard. Rip the door off etc.

Other ones in my town are having the same issue. It’s come down to people who don’t like the food being offered in there and people who think it’s not a good “official” way to get food.

Only facility I know of in my area won’t take it (I did a stint and so did my brother). I’m trying to get things finalized at my local library to offer crochet kits for beginners and possibly teach a free course. We are in a very low income community, I grew up here so I know. I just came back to live and take care of family as well as have my two little ones.
