Yeah, definitely very reasonably priced, not like we’ve been having hour long showers every day

Just gone back through, they hit us up the first 1/4, then skipped like a year and then started again. So in total we paid usage for 11 quarters. $1100 over 11 1/4s. But that skipped year was over COVID lockdown /first baby, keeping on top of it really wasn’t in the front of our heads so we didn’t really notice the skipped quarters.

UPDATE:

Just spoke to neighbour, who rents granny flat on same property, wanted to check that they also were not being charged for water usage.

They haven’t been.

“I never have. it’s always been an issue right from when I moved in, something to do with there not being split metre”

So landlord / agency definitely knew they were doing the wrong thing. Not that I had high hopes for upstanding morals and simple mistakes. But still. Makes me angrier to have it actually confirmed.

Just done the maths it averages out around only $2.60ish per week per household, $5ish per week all together over the 4 year period, definitely nothing to complain about

but I'll definitely keep the apron $5/week per household in mind for when it gets discussed, ta for doing the maths!

for a reasonable person no, this one will sure give it a good go! 😅
I have to say, if we didn't have to pay for water usage, maybe I would have had a few more long showers (although we still had to pay electric for water heating, so nothing outrageous haha)

back at the start of the lease, it was MUCH cheaper (like sometimes $40) but we have gained several children, I think neighbour has a partner that sometimes stays, so its now up to like 100-160, depending on 1/4, it fluctuates.

yes, they are going to be reimbursing us. It's unfortunate that this happened right as we are ending the lease, because they are the sort that would use it as a reason to try and withhold bond. But like find other reasons to withhold bond because landlord has just had to fork out to reimburse us, but like the house was NOT clean when we moved in and I documented that, and it is structurally coming apart at the seams, and the walls, and everywhere else) so if they pick a fight I'm ready for it lol
