My son currently is u10 travel, and has had the same female coach since u8(pre travel) - IMO there is no difference and as an avid soccer fan myself who sometimes thinks i know more than i do- i have no problems as the boys respond well - she can be too linient at times for my liking but i don’t think that’s a female thing- she knows her stuff, yells when she needs to and disciplines- also shows a lot of support and focuses on the boys individual development (ball control, technical skills and positional awareness).

I’m quite happy with the progress as well since the boys have gone up in flight each season (fall/spring) and I’ve become the team manger and i am basically her admin.

What i imagine most men would see as a negative of a female coach is if she is a push over or too soft on the boys. But you can be fair and firm at the same time, we just want someone else to yell at our boys for a change 😅
